Activities at Bedewell Grange Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Donna Brooks

Activities Coordinator

My Name is Donna. I am the activities co-ordinator at Bedewell Grange.

I joined Bedewell Grange in April 2022 and I bring lots of new exciting ideas to the role, having worked in the health and social care sector for the last 15 years. I am passionate about my role within the home and aim to bring a smile to all our residents faces through different types of activities.

I'm bright and bubbly, so aim to share this each day at work. I have experience in supporting our residents who are more able as well as doing sensory Namaste sessions with our residents who are less able.

As I get to know the residents likes and dislikes, if you would like to come and chat with me about your family member please pop in and see me.

Arts & Crafts

At Bedewell Grang, we are working with Equal Arts and Henpower; local artists come in and we create lots of artwork using different mediums, and we're always trying to think of ways we can expand on the artists' ideas.

We had great fun working on our summer theme art with different fabrics, and once they were mounted and framed they looked stunning.

Our next artist is a ceramic artist, so stay tuned for more pictures of our ceramic creations.

Easter Activities

Here at Bedewell Grange, staff and residents all enjoyed our Easter Egg hunt on Good Friday. We also hosted a seasonal baking afternoon and indulged in a cake or two afterwards.

,

Communal Crossword Activity

Every week, we all get together for a crossword activity, which allows for residents to participate in a cognitive puzzle. This can help with memory, problem solving, social interaction, promotes discussion and results in a jolly good laugh. Residents are often joined by friends and family members, who are always welcome.

St Patrick's Day

Here at Bedewell Grange, we had a great night celebrating St Patrick's Day with the great singer, Christine Rosemond. She has entertained the residents & staff on previous occasions and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. We also had an Irish-themed tea party!
