Activities at Bedewell Grange Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Donna Brooks
My Name is Donna. I am the activities co-ordinator at Bedewell Grange.
I joined Bedewell Grange in April 2022 and I bring lots of new exciting ideas to the role, having worked in the health and social care sector for the last 15 years. I am passionate about my role within the home and aim to bring a smile to all our residents faces through different types of activities.
I'm bright and bubbly, so aim to share this each day at work. I have experience in supporting our residents who are more able as well as doing sensory Namaste sessions with our residents who are less able.
As I get to know the residents likes and dislikes, if you would like to come and chat with me about your family member please pop in and see me.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Bedewell Grange Care Home
Employee of the Month - December
Congratulations to Care Assistant, Amanda Porri, who was named as Bedewell Grange's Employee of the Month for December.
Employee of the Month - October
Tracy recently came on board to support the activities department to cover sickness. She has organised a number of events over the past two months and has had some great feedback from the residents and their families. She is a worthy winner!
Remembrance Day
Residents, loved ones and staff members paid tribute to the armed forces and civilians who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. We held a two minute silence, followed by a wartime singalong with Vera Lynn.
Halloween 2017
Residents, loved ones and staff members all joined in on the fun for Halloween. We were also joined by a great singer, who gave his time for free and had residents singing and dancing the night away.
Barchester's 25th Anniversary
Our 25th anniversary celebrations got off to a wonderful start with singer, Christine Rosemond, singing some nostalgic tunes for the residents to enjoy and dance along to.
At the interval, residents and their families got to indulge in a wonderful ‘cream tea’ of sumptuous scones with jam and clotted cream, which were all washed down with hot & cold beverages.
A special thanks to all the staff involved in the organisation of this very special milestone.
Macmillan Coffee Morning
We held our own coffee morning on Saturday 30th September in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
With the help and support of residents, their loved ones and staff members, we raised £400 for a great cause in the fight against cancer.
