Activities at Beeston View Memory Lane Community

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Chelsea Flower Show

We enjoyed celebrating the Chelsea Flower Show. Our residents had a lovely time doing their own flower arrangements and displays, discussing the many vibrant colours of the flowers and spending time in our garden.

Some preferred to watch the Chelsea Flower Show in the lounge, whilst other enjoyed various gardening activates. We also took the time to learn more about the importance of bees and the role they play in pollinating. We had a lovely time watching the Chelsea Flower Show, we all thought they looked wonderful.

St George's Day

In honour of St George, patron saint of England, we decorated our home, dressed up for the occasion and enjoyed a delicious festive lunch, prepared by our talented chef.  We spent some time learning top facts about St George and tested our knowledge with a fun-filled themed quiz.

Birthday celebrations

Birthday celebrations, everyone at Iddenshall Hall would like to wish Resident, Eileen a very happy 93-years young birthday!

Eileen was delighted to be surrounded with cake, cards and presents from residents and colleagues throughout the day with fun and laughter to ensure that the birthday girl had a wonderful day.

A day at the races

We had a truly amazing afternoon celebrating Ladies Day at Aintree. An afternoon that was full of much fun and laughter as both residents and staff put on their posh hats to be part of the occasion. Many residents joined the event where they were able to interact, laugh and have a great time together. Some even decided to keep on their hats to go to dinner!

Easter preparations underway

Residents at Iddenshall Hall and Beeston View have been getting ‘egg’stra’ creative in their popular arts and crafts group as they showed their artistic flair painting eggs to create an Easter display in the homes grounds as part of their forthcoming Easter egg hunt.

Painting a masterpiece

Vincent was a Dutch Post-Impressionist painter who posthumously became one of the most famous and influential figures in Western art history.

To mark what would have been his birthday, we took a virtual visit to the Van Gogh Museum to explore his paintings, letters written by him and his biography.

Our residents got involved in an art class where they painted their own masterpieces and a session where they learnt interesting facts about the famous painter.
