Activities at Bloomfield Care Centre
We host a wide range of activities and events here for residents to stimulate them both physically and mentally. Relatives can often be found taking part; for example, they will some times join us on minibus trips and to enjoy entertainers and musical events. There is regular involvement from the local community, with ministers holding services for us weekly, visits from our PAT dog, and a good volunteer network. Additionally, we have recently opened a Dementia Café, which is held on the fourth Tuesday of every month. Activities are an essential part of residents' lives, so we strive to keep them active with a focus on what they can achieve and that life here is fun.
Cathy Jallow
Hello, My name is Cathy and I am the Activities Coordinator at Bloomfield care centre.
I joined the team here at Bloomfield in August 2017 as carer and have since moved into Activities.
The Activities role is varied and one which allows me to plan amazing activities for our residents to ensure their days are filled with lots of fun, laughter and social interaction.
I am always looking for new activity ideas as well as new places to visit, so please give me a call to discuss our life enrichment programme further.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Bloomfield Care Centre
A completely spooktacular afternoon at Bloomfield
To celebrate Halloween we had a fun filled afternoon with the local children joining us for a very traditional Halloween. We had trick or treating with the children eating many sweets that the resident's offered them! The witches devil's and skeleton's all watched the legendary film hocus pocus and finished off the afternoon with a Halloween themed buffet. A spooktacular afternoon had by all!
Cheese & Wine Evening
Bloomfield hosted a cheese and wine evening where produce from the local area was sampled. This was followed by a quiz, which all enjoyed.
Gardens of the World
The National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) has joined forces with Creative Mojo to work closely with people living in care homes to produce fabulous artwork based on the gardens of the world, and Bloomfield is delighted to be a part of this project.
An exhibition in the home is being held, where people from the community can visit and view the pieces. The garden chosen are: Moroccan, Nang-Nooch, Keukenhoff and Dubai Miracle.
Please come and see the fabulous creations our residents have made.
Open Day
On 31st August, Bloomfield celebrated a Caribbean-themed open day where cocktails, Caribbean decoration and entertainment was provided. As you can see from the photographs, a good time was had by all!
Dog Show
Bloomfield hosted a Dog show this August. The dogs were judges by Laurence Webb, a vet and Ian Audus. The final winner of the contest was the dog Rply, which was accompanied by his owner, Luke James. Everyone had a great time and was happy to host the furry friends.
Summer Fete
