Activities at Bluebell Park Care Home
Here at Bluebell Park our aim is to enrich the lives of our residents, through group, and individual activities.
We have a wide range of activities designed to mentally, and physically stimulate the people we care for, including regular trips out in the mini bus, and taking part in the community led events that happen in the village we live in. We hold monthly resident meetings so our planning reflects their wishes, and requests, for example we now hold a regular bingo club (which residents families love to attend) and a bowling afternoon which the gentlemen here particularly enjoy. Entertainers and musicians regularly come into the home and families and friends are always welcome to attend too.
Activities are one of the most important aspects of our care home, and we strive to have a full range on offer. Our team here at Bluebell are dedicated to ensuring our residents enjoy, and get as much out of our entertainment as possible. It is without a doubt our mission is to make sure that life at Bluebell is active, fun, and most of all happy.
Leanne Lowe
Hello. My name is Leanne Lowe and I am the Activity Coordinator for Bluebell Park.
I have worked for Barchester for 6 years as a Carer and I have now made the move to Activities.
During my time here I have built lovely friendships and knowledge of our residents . I aim to offer a range of varied and tailored activities and group sessions that are meaningful to each of our residents. I am thrilled to be supporting the whole team at Bluebell Park in delivering fun, engaging and interesting activities for our residents. We also have a minibus which is used weekly to take residents out to cafes, local beauty spots and day trips.

Life at Bluebell Park Care Home
Father's Day
As we celebrated Father’s day, our gentleman shared their memories and stories from childhood to what it has meant to them to be a father. Not to miss out, the ladies gathered in the lounge to create some wonderful brightly coloured flower arrangements which are now displayed throughout the home.
Jubilee celebrations
Our Platinum Jubilee celebrations were fit for a Queen! Everyone had a wonderful time with a fun-filled weekend of activities and especially enjoyed the live performance at their garden concert by popular vocalist, Richard Comfort. It was great to spend time with family and friends too.
Decorating cupcakes
Residents at Bluebell enjoy their group activities and have shown their creative sides in baking club as they decorated their own cupcakes with a variety of toppings, sure to satisfy anyone’s sweet tooth! Residents enjoyed the cupcakes with their afternoon cup of tea and sing-a-long!
Carers week
Happy Carers Week! We would like to take this great opportunity to recognise and thank our wonderful carers here at the home.
We are proud of each and every one of our care team for the outstanding care that they provide to our residents every single day. They always go above and beyond their role and for this we are truly grateful.
National Trust talk
Our homes had a fantastic time joining National Trust Talks Service team at Cliveden House for an inspirational talk on Nancy Astor – the first woman to take a seat in the House of Commons.
Our residents had the opportunity to learn more about the fascinating life of Nancy and her political career. As the first women MP, she experienced both attention and scandal throughout her life, which led to many triumphs and numerous disasters. The talk was truly enjoyed by all.
Ferndown florist demo
Our homes had a lovely time joining Sue and Nicole from Ferndown Florist for an intriguing flower arrangement workshop in celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Our residents enjoyed a wonderful virtual demonstration and got inspired to create their own flower posies for our Jubilee displays. Our home will be specially decorated for the upcoming festivities. Stay tuned.
