Activities at Bluebell Park Care Home
Here at Bluebell Park our aim is to enrich the lives of our residents, through group, and individual activities.
We have a wide range of activities designed to mentally, and physically stimulate the people we care for, including regular trips out in the mini bus, and taking part in the community led events that happen in the village we live in. We hold monthly resident meetings so our planning reflects their wishes, and requests, for example we now hold a regular bingo club (which residents families love to attend) and a bowling afternoon which the gentlemen here particularly enjoy. Entertainers and musicians regularly come into the home and families and friends are always welcome to attend too.
Activities are one of the most important aspects of our care home, and we strive to have a full range on offer. Our team here at Bluebell are dedicated to ensuring our residents enjoy, and get as much out of our entertainment as possible. It is without a doubt our mission is to make sure that life at Bluebell is active, fun, and most of all happy.
Leanne Lowe
Hello. My name is Leanne Lowe and I am the Activity Coordinator for Bluebell Park.
I have worked for Barchester for 6 years as a Carer and I have now made the move to Activities.
During my time here I have built lovely friendships and knowledge of our residents . I aim to offer a range of varied and tailored activities and group sessions that are meaningful to each of our residents. I am thrilled to be supporting the whole team at Bluebell Park in delivering fun, engaging and interesting activities for our residents. We also have a minibus which is used weekly to take residents out to cafes, local beauty spots and day trips.

Life at Bluebell Park Care Home
International Cheesecake Day
Some of the residents spent the afternoon getting creative with their baking skills. We celebrated International Cheesecake Day we had a group discussion on favourite toppings then we got stuck in and made our own. Followed by tasting the yummy treats at the end with a good cup of Tea and chat, overall it was an afternoon enjoyed by all who participated.
Besides the seaside
We had the pleasure of welcoming All around the Shires into the home for the afternoon. We had an afternoon reminiscence show based on Summertime. There was lots of different items to look at and discuss and it brought back good memories. Overall it was a lovely afternoon enjoyed by all who came along.

Herstory of Mayfair
Residents across our services had a fantastic time joining Mandy Morrow for a virtual walking tour to learn about the ‘Herstory’ of Mayfair. The Mayfair of Nightingales may be long gone but it still holds a 20th century charm. Birthplace to the late Queen Elizabeth II, home to one of WWII's most decorated female war heroes and a tale of a wealthy Aristocrat and one of France's favourite designers.
We were delighted to take a walk down memory lane and discover stories from one of London's most iconic areas. The experience was truly enjoyed by all.
National Ice Cream Day
Residents across our homes had a fantastic time during a special live virtual event in celebration on National Ice Cream Day. Wall’s team took us on a great journey through history, sharing fascinating details about the brand since its launch in 1922. We learned about major innovations such as the introduction of Mr Whippy, Cornetto, Viennetta, Twister, and Carte d'Or.
Residents were treated to a singalong to Cornetto classic ads, an interactive quiz about fun Wall’s facts and best-of-all, an ice-cream tasting session. It was a delightful experience for everyone, especially our ice-cream lovers.
Afternoon Concert with Dave
We had the pleasure of welcoming Dave into the home. We had a One hours concert packed with a variety of songs. There was lots of singing some dancing. Overall it was a lovely afternoon enjoyed by all who attended.
