Activities at Bluebell Park Care Home

Here at Bluebell Park our aim is to enrich the lives of our residents, through group, and individual activities.

We have a wide range of activities designed to mentally, and physically stimulate the people we care for, including regular trips out in the mini bus, and taking part in the community led events that happen in the village we live in. We hold monthly resident meetings so our planning reflects their wishes, and requests, for example we now hold a regular bingo club (which residents families love to attend) and a bowling afternoon which the gentlemen here particularly enjoy. Entertainers and musicians regularly come into the home and families and friends are always welcome to attend too.

Activities are one of the most important aspects of our care home, and we strive to have a full range on offer. Our team here at Bluebell are dedicated to ensuring our residents enjoy, and get as much out of our entertainment as possible. It is without a doubt our mission is to make sure that life at Bluebell is active, fun, and most of all happy.

Leanne Lowe

Activity Coordinator

Hello.  My name is Leanne Lowe and I am the Activity Coordinator for Bluebell Park.

I have worked for Barchester for 6 years as a Carer and I have now made the move to Activities.

During my time here I have built lovely friendships and knowledge of our residents . I aim to offer a range of varied and tailored activities and group sessions that are meaningful to each of our residents.  I am thrilled to be supporting the whole team at Bluebell Park in delivering fun, engaging and interesting activities for our residents. We also have a minibus which is used weekly to take residents out to cafes, local beauty spots and day trips.

Life at Bluebell Park Care Home

Brewing Up a Storm

At Bluebell, we feel so blessed to have such an amazing support network from our community with the local churches, interest groups and community, all supporting us and it is now that the support we have received has shined brighter than ever, and the home was delighted to receive a bumper coffee hamper from their local Costa outlet to brew up a storm for residents.

The response from the local community has been amazing and the residents have been delighted and have been enjoying all the wonderful gifts they have received, and we will certainly enjoy a cuppa thanks to Costa. The kind gesture has certainly brought some positivity and smiles to the home.

Fruit Donation

Residents and colleagues at Bluebell were delighted to answer the door to accept a special delivery from a family member who had generously sent a colourful fruit box to the home for everyone to enjoy, and in recognition of the home's hard working, dedicated team supporting residents during this difficult period.

The response from the local community has been amazing,  and the residents have been overwhelmed with the gestures from families, members of the community, and it has brought some positivity and smiles to us all.

We look forward to the time we can welcome them to visit us again!

A Kind Donation

Residents and staff at Bluebell have been treated to some kind gifts thanks to two local businesses. Staff at the home have been working tirelessly to keep residents happy and well, despite missing their usual visits from family, friends and entertainers during the current Coronavirus outbreak. A beautiful hamper was donated by Jane Moore for all the staff on Memory Lane, whose mum is a resident of the home; and the delicious tasty cakes, donated by Wendy Record, had everyone’s taste buds tingling!

Bumper Delivery

It was an ‘egg-stravgant' delight for residents when they were surprised by the generosity of The Prince’s Responsible Business Network, when local representative, Nuria de la Fuente, delivered a chocolate feast to the home for everyone to enjoy!

As always, everyone at Bluebell Park looked forward to Easter. It’s such a nice time of the year – the residents loved all the colourful Easter eggs and we made sure Easter was extra special for our residents during this challenging period for everyone.

Mother's Day

Here at Bluebell Park, we were so pleased to receive these flowers from Mrs Bouquets Flowers, which she kindly donated to our residents to make up for their families not being able to visit on

Mother’s Day. We made sure they were all distributed throughout the home!

Pop In For A Cuppa

We held our own Pop In for A Cuppa afternoon to help raise money for Dementia UK. We had a lovely selection of coke and drinks on offer and also helpful literature for visitors to

take. Our residents were able to enjoy all the treats as well.
