Activities at Bluebell Park Care Home
Here at Bluebell Park our aim is to enrich the lives of our residents, through group, and individual activities.
We have a wide range of activities designed to mentally, and physically stimulate the people we care for, including regular trips out in the mini bus, and taking part in the community led events that happen in the village we live in. We hold monthly resident meetings so our planning reflects their wishes, and requests, for example we now hold a regular bingo club (which residents families love to attend) and a bowling afternoon which the gentlemen here particularly enjoy. Entertainers and musicians regularly come into the home and families and friends are always welcome to attend too.
Activities are one of the most important aspects of our care home, and we strive to have a full range on offer. Our team here at Bluebell are dedicated to ensuring our residents enjoy, and get as much out of our entertainment as possible. It is without a doubt our mission is to make sure that life at Bluebell is active, fun, and most of all happy.
Leanne Lowe
Hello. My name is Leanne Lowe and I am the Activity Coordinator for Bluebell Park.
I have worked for Barchester for 6 years as a Carer and I have now made the move to Activities.
During my time here I have built lovely friendships and knowledge of our residents . I aim to offer a range of varied and tailored activities and group sessions that are meaningful to each of our residents. I am thrilled to be supporting the whole team at Bluebell Park in delivering fun, engaging and interesting activities for our residents. We also have a minibus which is used weekly to take residents out to cafes, local beauty spots and day trips.

Life at Bluebell Park Care Home
Summer Garden
We would like to thank Jordan, our gardener, for making our garden so spectacular and colourful. All his hard work and dedication has made Bluebell Park Garden a lovely place for our residents and their families to sit.
The Magic Table
We are delighted to announce that we have just had a Magic Table installed, which is an interactive light projector, designed to support residents living with dementia by keeping them engaged through specialised games.
The light projections respond to hand and arm movement, allowing residents to stay stimulated and, most of all, have fun!
You can read more about it on this page.
Carers Week
Carers Week is an annual initiative to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges carers face, and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK.
Carers are the day-to-day face of Barchester, working directly with residents, patients and their families, to ensure the very best quality care and support is given.
In celebration of Carers Week Cadbury’s gift hampers have been sent to all of our care staff as a little ‘thank you’ for the contribution they make to the lives of those in their care.
On Wednesday 5th June 2019, Dr Pete Calveley made a special visit to Bluebell Park in Derbyshire to personally thank the carers and present them with their hamper of chocolate delights.
Wedding Anniversary
Josie and Edwin, residents of Bluebell Park, celebrated their wedding anniversary here at the home. They enjoyed a lovely dinner together, followed by a delicious celebratory cake. Congratulations to them both!
Enjoying the Sunshine
Here at Bluebell, we love to take advantage of the nice weather and get out into our lovely garden. As you can, see one of our residents enjoyed feeding the fish with Vanessa the activities coordinator.
Singing with Becca Gee
We welcomed Becca Gee to Bluebell Park for the first time and she did not disappoint. Residents enjoyed songs from the musicals of the '50s, '60s and '70s. We will certainly be inviting Becca back again!
