Activities at Brampton View Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Competitive bowling on the Wii

Residents have been getting competitive in the lounge, playing the bowling game on the Brampton View Wii. It's a great way keep fit and have fun with friends, while still social distancing.

Meet our new (feathered) residents

We are delighted that five blue tit chicks have hatched in a bird box in the Memory Lane courtyard at Brampton View. While the country has been in lock down our Activities Team has supported residents to spend more time than usual enjoying our outdoor spaces, and we're pleased the wildlife appreciates it too. We have bird feeders all around our gardens and views of rolling countryside making this a lovely environment for birds, rabbits, squirrels and other creatures. We all look forward to seeing the fledglings leave their box soon.

Delicious desserts

Head Chef, Ian, and his team create delicious desserts and treats every day. Here is a selection from the past week. Mmmm...

Betty loves her cats

Betty at Brampton View was over the moon to receive some cat ornaments and cushions, kindly donated by local cattery owner Kay.  Betty has always loved cats and when Kay heard about this she sorted out a few items for Betty's room. At Brampton View we encourage residents to maintain their passions and add their own personality to their rooms and the home.

Play Your Cards Right - an old favourite!

Harry and colleagues in the Brampton View Activities Team are being very creative in the range of entertainment we can offer at the moment to meet social distancing guidelines. Do you remember watching Play Your Cards Right on TV? Harry's version made a fun, mentally stimulating and mildly competitive afternoon. Higher or lower.....?

Celebrating Connie's 108th birthday

We were delighted to celebrate Connie's 108th birthday with her on 13th May 2020. We think she might be the oldest person in Northampton and she has lived at Brampton View since she was 102. We did our best to make her day special with balloons and bunting and special treats. She had her hair styled by Anya from our Activities Team. The the Care Team read all her cards to her, including a card from the queen. The Catering Team made her a lovely raspberry and lemon cake - her favourite. Congratulations Connie!
