Activities at Brampton View Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

A Wonderful Day Spreading Joy with the Power of Music
GMF Music has become a cherished and regular presence in our home, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Greg for once again gracing us with his enchanting performances. The day was truly filled with the wondrous power of music, bringing joy to every corner of our community. Greg's visit touched the lives of all our residents, as he made his way through the hallways, individual rooms, and communal lounges, engaging with everyone he met.
The profound impact of music on our home and residents is unmistakable, as their faces light up with delight in his presence. Live musical entertainment is a cornerstone of our life enrichment program, and resident involvement in choosing genres and providing feedback after each performance allows us to continually enhance our activities calendar. We are committed to ensuring that the magic of music continues to uplift and inspire everyone in our community.

Spooktacular Halloween Celebration
Brampton View hosted a spooktacular Halloween celebration that was enjoyed by all!
Staff and residents got into the spirit by dressing up in fantastic costumes, setting the stage for a fun-filled day. The highlight was the arrival of trick-or-treaters, bringing joy to the residents and adding to the festive atmosphere.
To keep the excitement going, there was live musical entertainment, ensuring a lively afternoon for everyone. Of course, no Halloween celebration is complete without an abundance of delicious treats, and there was plenty of chocolate to satisfy everyone's sweet tooth. It was a fantastic day filled with laughter, smiles, and a sense of community.
Our very own talented chef made a fantastic Halloween Cake and display which was viewed by all the residents and visitors to the home.
General Manager, Elina House stated "Halloween is normally a small affair in the home, but this year we celebrated this in style with wonderful entertainment, our lovely cake display and having the children in for trick or treat was the icing on the cake".
Festival of Light - Celebrating Diwali Joy for Residents and Staff
What a truly wonderful afternoon we had celebrating Diwali with our residents and staff! We had such a fantastic time learning all about the beautiful Festival of Lights. A special thank you to our staff members Hari and Simran who shared their knowledge, explained their traditions, and then treated us to an amazing spread of traditional Diwali foods and sweets.
The celebration continued with the delightful music played by the children on two beautiful instruments: the Rabab and the Tabla! Their performance filled our space with love and endearment, and they were wonderful, showing such confidence as they performed in front of so many people.
It's moments of cultural sharing and intergenerational connection like these that make our community so special. Residents shared their thoughts, saying "What an amazing afternoon filled with understanding and beautiful music," and "the children were so lovely bringing us their music and talent."
Elina House, General Manager, expressed, "We have a very diverse home filled with different cultures, religions, and countries, and we know how important it is to celebrate as many as we can in the home, sharing these precious moments with our residents and other staff, allowing them to showcase their traditions, food, and music." A huge thank you to everyone who took part and especially to the children who shared beautiful music and song.
Knit and Natter
What a delightful sight it was to witness our residents knitting and chatting away! It was heartwarming to see them effortlessly slip back into a beloved pastime, as if they had never stopped. They didn't even need to glance at their needles or yarn once they got into the groove. It was a peaceful and rejuvenating afternoon, with the added pleasure of watching TV while indulging in their creative pursuits.
One resident, when marveling at their own knitting skills, fondly shared, "I used to knit all of my children's clothes." It's truly heartening to see them reconnect with this craft that holds such fond memories.
Remembrance through the Power of Art & Friendship
We are delighted to witness a beautiful spirit of togetherness among our residents as we came together to observe Remembrance Day. It was a heart warming experience filled with lovely cakes, warm conversations, and shared moments of heartfelt connection as we honoured our soldiers. The time spent painting poppies and engaging in crafts added to the sense of camaraderie and respect for the occasion. We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who participated and helped in creating such a warm and meaningful atmosphere.
Lest We Forget.
In addition to observing significant national celebrations like Remembrance Day, we also organise family-friendly events to ensure that our residents remain connected with their loved ones and the wider community. These efforts aim to foster a sense of togetherness and belonging, enriching the lives of everyone involved.
Let us continue to cherish these moments of remembrance and togetherness, undefined.

Spooky Return for Vintage Ruby
The one and only Vintage Ruby has made her spectacular return! What a delightful surprise! Our hearts were filled with joy as we welcomed Vintage Ruby back to our home this afternoon.
It feels like just yesterday that Vintage Ruby graced us with her presence at our Summer Fête, and today, she brought the same level of excitement and happiness to our residents and staff. Her performance was absolutely outstanding, blending spooky Halloween classics with some fantastic 80s hits. Is there anything this incredible lady can't sing?
The afternoon was truly magical, filled with music, laughter, and so much fun. Vintage Ruby, we can't thank you enough for sharing your amazing talent and energy with us once again! We're already counting down the days until your next visit.
Deeper Life Bible Church brings joy to the Residents and Staff
Residents gathered together with the Deeper Life Bible Church Choir on a lovely Sunday afternoon. The choir brought joy to our home as they sang beautiful hymns accompanied by their own keyboard and instruments.
Their presence united the home and brought smiles to the residents' faces. The choir took the time to speak with our residents, expressing how much they appreciated the opportunity to visit and giving our residents a chance to connect with the members.
For many of our residents, attending church or participating in church activities is challenging due to their health and mobility. Recognising the importance of faith in their lives, we strive to bring spiritual support into our home.
In addition to the visit from Deeper Life bible Church, we also hold a monthly church service with local parishioners. This ensures that our residents can continue to practice their faith and feel connected to their spiritual community.
Carole & Pete bring joy to the Home
What a delightful afternoon it was with the Zing Singers! Carole and Pete continue to bring smiles to our residents' faces with their uplifting musical performance. Blue Diamond Garden Centre Visit for Residents
An enjoyable afternoon was spent on a visit to Blue Diamond Garden Centre, where residents had the opportunity to explore a variety of plants, Christmas decorations, and even encounter singing reindeer. The highlight of the outing was seeing the abundance of smiles all around.
Supporting residents in engaging in outings, shopping, dining experiences, and other excursions is an integral part of our comprehensive activities calendar. These outings are tailored to the residents' preferences and are an essential component of our life enrichment program. Our monthly activities calendar features a diverse range of outings and entertainment, all of which are organized based on the residents' requests.
Making Memories and Friends through Art
Today, we did more than just make crafts; we created lasting memories! Our residents had a delightful and enjoyable morning, filled with friendship and good company as they came together to unleash their creativity. This experience serves as a beautiful reminder that the true value of any activity lies in the people with whom we share it. After all, the best part of any endeavour is the cherished company we keep!

It was a day perfectly suited to honour such a remarkable lady. Cheers to undefined!
Menopause Awareness Event was a tremendous success!
We had the privilege of Dr. Nikki Ramskill, the founder of ‘The Female Health Doctor’, delivered an insightful talk to provide valuable information. The event aimed to encourage open conversations, dispel myths, and educate attendees on how to manage symptoms and improve overall well-being during menopause.
This event was especially timely as October is Menopause Awareness Month, dedicated to raising awareness about the physical, emotional, and psychological changes that women experience during menopause. The event sought to promote understanding and support for women going through this important phase of life.
It was lovely to hear from those who attended their opportunity to clarify confusing and conflicting information they had encountered online regarding menopause symptoms. Dr. Nikki Ramskill's expertise provided much-needed answers, guidance, and advice, empowering attendees to seek professional or natural aids for managing menopause.
And of course it was only right that we had a creative and informative touch to the event, our talented Chef, Glenn Coombs, prepared a nutritious Menopause Cake showcasing the various symptoms associated with menopause in the fun way Glen does best. It was served with refreshments and was a hit with everyone!
Elina House, General Manager, stated " There is such value and importance of hosting this type of event to support the well-being of staff and hosting to similar events in the future. We are truly grateful for the support of Dr. Nikki Ramskill and highlighted the sense of support and understanding fostered for women experiencing menopause"
Bell Plantation Outing was a huge hit with Residents and their Families.
What a fantastic day we had at Bell Plantation! Our residents had a wonderful shopping trip, and it was made even more special with the visit from family members. June, one of our lovely residents, was accompanied by her son and his wife all the way from Vietnam. It was heartwarming to see them spend quality time together at the home and on the outing to the garden centre.
The afternoon was filled with so much joy as we roamed around, taking in the sights, smells, and textures of the garden centre. Everyone left with bags full of treasures, just in time for supper! It's clear that Bell Plantation is a popular destination, and we're already looking forward to our next visit.
We invite everyone to join us on our future adventures!
