Activities at Brampton View Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Harvest Festival Competition

We are very proud of our entry into the Barchester Harvest Festival Competition. The Brampton View Memory Lane community made salt dough and shaped it into seasonal vegetables and fruits which were baked to make them go hard. Pat and friends painted them to make them realistic and arranged them in a basket. They looked good enough to eat and a local scarecrow was impressed too!

,

Macmillan Coffee Morning

Residents and staff at Brampton View held a Macmillan Coffee Morning and raised £50 for the Macmillan charity to support their good work. Marjorie, Pat and other residents were served delicious cupcakes, slices of sandwich cake and scones, all prepared by the Brampton View kitchen team. A lovely morning was had by all, enjoying friendly conversation together.

,

Baking cakes to share

Pat enjoyed taking part in the Brampton View baking activity today, making carrot cake muffins to share with fellow residents for afternoon tea.

,

Notting Hill Carnival

On Friday 28th August we held our own Notting Hill Carnival. We listened to carnival music, danced, and watched clips of previous carnivals on the TV. We enjoyed some party mocktails, and Mandy and Elizabeth had fun trying on carnival costumes.

,

Balloon modelling

We had fun trying some balloon modelling to see whether we could make anything recognisable. We had a some strange looking animals, a few loud pops and a couple of balloons that whizzed off around the room. Our most successful creations were the hats, modelled by Elizabeth and Pat. It's not as easy at it looks, you know!

Baking at Brampton

Winn, Margaret and Neville enjoyed making shortbread for everyone to share at afternoon tea time in the garden. Baking is a favourite activity and leads to lots of discussion about people's favourite foods and memories of baking with their families.
