Activities at Bushey House Beaumont Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Tina Stovey
I started working at Bushey House Beaumont in 2022 in an activities role that I absolutely love. There are very few jobs that offer the daily satisfaction and fulfilment that mine does. I am delighted to be able to play my part in helping to bring joy and laughter into our residents’ daily lives and offer them an interesting choice of events to do just that.

Life at Bushey House Beaumont Care Home
Flower arranging
Our residents love the the smell of fresh flowers around the home. We are blessed with our surroundings. We had a lovely relaxed afternoon picking them, learning about them and then arranged them in various vases to spread around the home for everyone to enjoy.
The Easter Variety Show
Staff and Residents will be joining in with the Easter Variety show, which is being run by the teams at Golden Memories and Dementia Friendly Watford, they will be joined by over 1000 other including members of Watford Fc and Mayor Peter Taylor. They will enjoy performances from special guests. The event is being hosted by Lee Partridge. The event will take place on Saturday 3rd April 2021.
The organization also donated Easter eggs for all the residents in the home
International Womans Day
For International Women’s Day we had a wonderful young lady from our community called Olivia, who made a presentation about her inspiration, Anne Frank. We cannot provide a picture as she is under 16 however we would like to thank her for her very professional presentation!
We also had Father Tim of St James church provide a talk about the inspirational women in his life, and the birth of his children! Some of us were in tears! Fr Tim reminded us of the fact that every woman making it through every day struggles, especially in these times, can be a huge inspiration.
Fabulous Vera
Meet Vera a fabulous caring resident of ours. Vera has been busy knitting here at Bushey House. As well as helping with our Pomp Pomp Project, Vera has made some items for babies in the Special Care Unit at Watford General Hospital. The idea is that parents who cannot be with their babies all the time, have one knitted square and the baby has the other with their smell on it. This way the parents can be with their baby even when they are not. We have followed strict quarantine procedures to ensure safety
Indoor Potting
Over the past few weeks our activity team have been asking our residents what they really enjoy doing. Many resident's said they missed the garden but also said it's just too cold to be outside at present. All resident's were looking forward to summer when its warmer so they can enjoy our beautiful grounds. Hannah our activity co-ordinator, listened to our residents comments and decided to act. Hannah said ‘Hearing our residents talk about how much they are missing the garden and getting the pots ready for spring and summer made me think, so we decided to have an indoor potting day'. The day itself was so much fun, the residents loved getting prepared for the spring and summer days ahead of us’. We can’t wait to see our creations in full bloom over the coming weeks.
Valentine's Celebration's
Residents and staff thoroughly enjoyed our Valentines day her at Bushey House. We started the day discussing the great loves in our lives and our wedding days. It was so interesting. Our home was decorated lovingly with red petals, roses and photo display's. Bushey House's fantastic kitchen team, true to form, presented us with a fantastic meal, this was closely followed by an afternoon of song delivered beautifully to us by our very own Anna-Marie.
