Activities at Chalfont Lodge Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Chalfont Lodge is a large care home and we have a diverse range of groups and events to ensure that everyone feels welcome and included. In the Lifestyle team we work hard to create a sense of community and ensure there is always someone to talk to and something to do.
Our residents help us to plan the monthly lifestyle programme, making sure that everyone has something they like, enabling people to keep up with life long hobbies or pick up new ones. We have long term projects like our summer parties, car shows, BBQs, craft fairs, Christmas shows to mention a few and residents can be as involved as they would like in all stages of the planning or just come along and enjoy on the day.
We love going out on trips, to lunch, shopping or to socialise with other local groups, we also have many people who come into visit us with church services, music, talks and support for our bigger events.
We have a fantastic team of staff and every department is involved in making sure our residents get the most out of living here. We have a brilliant music therapist who works her magic 3 days a week, running group and individual sessions. Our Physiotherapy team keep everyone fit and active, working with us to make sure everyone has access to sports and team games.
We have a full programme groups, events and clubs but none of it would be possible without our residents and their families, we all work together to make this a home from home and to keep laughter and friendship at the heart of what we do.

Celebrating life at Chalfont Lodge Care Home

Celebrating Elvis's birthday in style
What a fantastic day we had celebrating Elvis Presley’s birthday here at Chalfont Lodge Care Centre!
A huge thank you to Gary Roman, who had everyone smiling as he sang all the classic Elvis songs we know and love. From toe-tapping tunes to singalong favourites, the room was filled with music, laughter, and memories.
It was wonderful to see our residents and their families singing, clapping, and dancing away together in such a joyful atmosphere and a truly special celebration.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a memorable Elvis birthday celebration.

Grand Opening of Our Nail Salon at Chalfont Lodge
We were delighted to celebrate the grand opening of our beautiful new nail salon, Chalfont Lodge Care Centre, a truly special occasion for everyone involved.
The salon was officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by one of our residents, making the moment even more meaningful.
Residents were absolutely delighted to have this wonderful new salon available, bringing relaxation, pampering, and a lovely sense of luxury to the day.
We can’t wait to see many happy, relaxed moments shared in our new salon.
Evenings at Chalfont
Evenings are getting even more exciting here at Chalfont!
We’ve recently introduced evening activities, and last night’s event was a huge hit! Our theme was Ancient Egypt, inspired by the Grand Egyptian Museum opening on November 4th.
The residents shared their wonderful memories of trips to Egypt. We chatted about what life was like in ancient times, discovered some fascinating facts, and even tested our knowledge with a fun quiz!
It was a fantastic evening filled with laughter, learning, and lovely company — and both residents and relatives absolutely loved it!
Animal therapy
It’s not every day you find a snake slithering through the lounge or a giant snail stealing the show! Today our residents met some truly wild guests — from creepy crawlies to a friendly frog!
Lots of laughter, brave moments, and maybe a few squeals too — who knew animal therapy could be this entertaining.
Annual Dog Show
Here at Chalfont we held our annual dog show, which was an amazing event for both residents and their families.
We managed to raise £388 for Medical detection Dogs.

A Journey Through Family History at Chalfont Lodge
This week, residents Chalfont Lodge Care Centre enjoyed a truly meaningful activity led by Sarah from our Activities Team, exploring Family History and how to trace our ancestors.
Together, we reminisced about treasured family stories that have been passed down through generations, sparking wonderful conversations and shared memories. Using the 1921 census, we were able to look back at some of our residents’ family histories and even traced one resident’s family five generations back to Ireland!
It was a formative and heart-warming session that not only awakened memories but also inspired a real desire to discover more and delve further into the rich history of our families. Moments like these remind us just how powerful stories and shared heritage can be.

Exciting Moments from Activity Week 2026
Today, we celebrated our incredible life enrichment activities team! A huge shout out to Kirsty, Sarah, and Sally for their hard work and dedication. They truly shine in everything they do!
Our General Manager, Raj, and Deputy Manager, Ovi, presented heartfelt recognition to all our life enrichment staff, along with certificates for their outstanding dedication from the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) and Barchester Healthcare. And of course, who doesn’t love a little chocolate treat?
Oktoberfest
Prost to Oktoberfest! Our residents and staff had an amazing time celebrating in true Bavarian style — with traditional music, delicious pretzels, laughter, and a few dance moves too!
The home was filled with smiles, good company, and plenty of festive spirit. Here’s to friendship, fun, and making memories together!
Silver Sunday Celebration at Amersham Village Hall!
Our residents, Michael and Gerry from Chalfont Lodge Care Centre – Barchester Healthcare, had an amazing time at the Silver Sunday afternoon tea! The hall was buzzing with laughter, joy, and delightful conversations as everyone came together to celebrate. A heartfelt thank you to Mimi Harker OBE for hosting this wonderful community event and making us all feel so welcome.
Live music at Chalfont
What a fantastic time we had at Chalfont Lodge with Andy's amazing 50s, 60s, and 70s show on the decking! The residents loved every moment, singing along to classics like "Stand By Me!"
It was a wonderful way to bring everyone together for some fun and nostalgia. Refreshments were also available for everyone!

Celebrating Our Evening Activities
At Chalfont Lodge we’re delighted to share the success of our much-loved evening activities, where our residents come together to relax, socialise, and enjoy meaningful experiences.
Our cheese and wine nights have become a real highlight, paired with engaging talks on historical and present-day topics all carefully chosen by our residents themselves. From fascinating stories of the past to discussions that spark memories and conversation, these evenings are filled with laughter, learning, and connection.
It’s wonderful to see our residents taking the lead, sharing ideas, and enjoying evenings that truly reflect their interests. Moments like these are what make our community so special.

Dementia Disco
Some of our lovely residents attended a local Dementia Disco event hosted by a local Theatre and, wow — they had the most amazing time! The music, the smiles, the dancing… it was pure joy from start to finish. Seeing them light up with every song was just wonderful.
Moments like these remind us why we love what we do — connection, laughter and making memories that truly matter.
Can’t wait for the next one!
Getting Creative
We’ve been getting creative with the colours of the season! Our residents spent the afternoon making beautiful autumn-inspired art — full of golden leaves, pumpkins and cosy shades of orange and red.
It’s amazing what a little paint, laughter and imagination can create!
Out and About in Chalfont St Peter!
Pamela, one of our cherished residents, had a lovely afternoon exploring the village! Did you know we have a minibus to take our residents on fun community trips? It’s all about creating joyful experiences and making lasting memories!
We learnt about the original Victorian dower house that once stood where our lovely care home is today. Did you know it served as a girls' school until the 1950s? One of our residents even shared their memories!
We explored old photos, timetables, and uniform lists, reminiscing about the past. Even though the buildings are gone, our beautiful tree-fringed lake, vast lawns, and stunning Cypress, Magnolia, and Beech trees remain. It was a delightful morning filled with stories and nostalgia!
A trip to the lake!
What a beautiful outing our residents and staff enjoyed today! We had the pleasure of meeting a couple of friendly Irish Wolf Hounds on our walk around Rickmansworth Lake.
The weather was perfect, we stayed refreshed with iced drinks, and spotted some lovely wildlife along the way!
