Activities at Chalfont Lodge Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Chalfont Lodge is a large care home and we have a diverse range of groups and events to ensure that everyone feels welcome and included. In the Lifestyle team we work hard to create a sense of community and ensure there is always someone to talk to and something to do.
Our residents help us to plan the monthly lifestyle programme, making sure that everyone has something they like, enabling people to keep up with life long hobbies or pick up new ones. We have long term projects like our summer parties, car shows, BBQs, craft fairs, Christmas shows to mention a few and residents can be as involved as they would like in all stages of the planning or just come along and enjoy on the day.
We love going out on trips, to lunch, shopping or to socialise with other local groups, we also have many people who come into visit us with church services, music, talks and support for our bigger events.
We have a fantastic team of staff and every department is involved in making sure our residents get the most out of living here. We have a brilliant music therapist who works her magic 3 days a week, running group and individual sessions. Our Physiotherapy team keep everyone fit and active, working with us to make sure everyone has access to sports and team games.
We have a full programme groups, events and clubs but none of it would be possible without our residents and their families, we all work together to make this a home from home and to keep laughter and friendship at the heart of what we do.

Flower Arranging
Here at Chalfont Lodge we regularly host Flower Arranging sessions for our residents. What better way to brighten up these winter days than to make beautiful flower bouquets and share them around the home for all to enjoy!

Diwali
Diwali is known as the 'festival of lights' and houses, shops and public places are decorated with small oil lamps called 'diyas’. At Chalfont Lodge we decorated some areas of our home with lights and colourful fabrics then had a wonderful party where we tasted a selection of homemade Indian dishes, listened to traditional music along with traditional dancing from the staff members. Residents also had fun joining in with the dancing.

Fireworks Night
In celebration of Bonfire Night, residents at Chalfont Lodge wrapped up warm to gather around to see the bonfire and to watch a fantastic firework display! Some also enjoyed watching beautiful firework displays virtually. Everyone tasted some traditional bonfire night treats, including hot dogs, hot chocolate and burgers prepared by the chefs.

Halloween
Here at Chalfont Lodge we got into the spooky Halloween spirit of things with a twist by having a fun filled day having delicious Halloween inspired treats and themed music while carving our pumpkins but decorating them with beautiful flowers! Whilst some of our residents preferred to decorate pumpkins others got involved in themed quizzes and games, and enjoyed watching Halloween films.

Harvest – Wheat Sheaf
At Chalfont Lodge the residents got into the harvest festival spirit by creating a beautiful Wheat Sheaf for our autumnal display. The edible arrangement was made by firstly creating a lovely soft dough, then making a base layer and individually attaching tiny stalks and wheat heads before finally adding some personal touches - bread plaits and a cute little mouse to finish it off!
