Activities at Challoner House Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Life at Challoner House Care Home
Gentleman's Afternoon
Some of the gentlemen from Challoner House enjoyed an afternoon in our neighbouring pub, The King Rufus. They said they enjoyed raising a pint to be able to go out and enjoy a pint together again.
Cool Treats
Residents at Challoner House always enjoys a trip out to the lovely Carlos Ice Cream Parlour. They have a great garden to sit out in with a mini farm, and the residents love seeing the animals whilst eating their favourite flavour ice cream.
The Olympics
Residents and staff at Challoner House have enjoyed supporting Great Britain during the Olympics. We are all very proud of our team for achieving so many medals across all the sports.
Scrabble Time
Residents at Challoner House really enjoy a good game of Scrabble. We are lucky to have a giant Scrabble board that we can play team games and individual games on. As you can see, the game can get quite competitive, with really good words being played.
Blenheim Palace Virtual Talk
The residents at Challoner House really enjoyed the live talk from Blenheim Palace on evacuees and espionage during World War 2.
Before the talk, the residents shared stories of their lives during the war and we had a quiz related to the talk. We also found stories on the internet written by evacuees, which everyone took turns to read aloud. Residents said it was a fabulous talk, bringing back lots of memories.
A History of Musicals
Residents were able to enjoy our first entertainer back into the home since the Covid restrictions. We had the lovely Roger from The Creative Talks company, who gave us a fantastic interactive talk on the history of musicals. Residents really enjoyed seeing Roger and singing along to his musical clips.
