Activities at Challoner House Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Challoner House Care Home
Mother's Day
Residents enjoyed a lovely Mother’s Day afternoon tea party. They had some beautiful homemade scones, cakes and refreshments. The ladies said the afternoon was lovely and very thoughtful.
Weekly Exercise
The residents at Challoner House really look forward to their weekly exercise class, held by one of the activity team. We use different exercise equipment and introduce a new exercise each week. We end the session with a breathing and relaxation session. The residents have said they feel the classes really help keep them active and enjoy the different movements to music.
Birthday Celebrations
Our lovely birthday lady, Joan, Celebrated her birthday recently. All our residents are treated to a personalised gift, card and beautiful birthday cake.
Joan was absolutely frilled with her treats; all the staff and residents sang happy birthday to her at lunch time and she got to see her son and daughter in law in our visiting pod
Birthday Celebrations
We are lucky to have two lovely sisters living at Challoner House. Recently, one of them celebrated her birthday, and was joined by her family in the visiting suite. She has had a lovely day and feels lucky to be able to spend it with her family.
Wedding Bells
One of our residents and his family was very grateful to be able to book a slot in our visiting pod for his granddaughter's wedding day. The family turned up in their wedding attire and was able to raise a glass to the happy couple.
Christmas Concert
Residents at Challoner House are very lucky, as we have some very talented staff working here, who put on a lovely musical concert of Christmas songs played on the clarinet and trombone. The residents enjoyed singing along. They had Buck's Fizz and sherry on arrival and Christmas party food to finish off the concert.
