Activities at Cherry Blossom Manor Care Home

Activities at Cherry Blossom Manor are delivered using the whole home approach, where there is never a dull moment. Our Activities team take great care to make sure that our residents, resident’s families and staff’s physical, mental, and social well-being are taken into account. Whether it is a group session or a personal-centred activity you can be certain it is meeting a need.

We have our regular activities such as Scrabble Club, Bingo, Zumba, Gardening Club, Movie Time, family support meetings, Residents meetings and many more. We are also known for our theme days where the whole home likes to dress up. We have even been known in the past to go for a drive in the minibus in our costumes!

August Open Day

On Saturday 11th August, friends young and old came together to celebrate Cherry Blossom Manor's open day.

Residents, visitors and staff all enjoyed the seaside-themed event, where they were able to walk on the home’s very own man-made temporary sandy beach, which was placed in the home's surrounding courtyard. Guests enjoyed dipping their feet in the pool of salt water while listening to the sounds of waves and seagulls, and were able to enjoy a selection of seaside refreshments, including ice cream, doughnuts and fish and chips, which were provided by the hospitality team. The day was rounded off with entertainment from local singer, Ginger, who got everyone singing and dancing with a selection of summer-themed songs.

A great day was had by all!

Royal Garter Day

Residents and staff packed up the minibus and headed off to Windsor Castle, as we had been lucky enough to receive invites to join the Royal Family and troops in the celebrations of the Royal Garter. The sun was shining and everyone enjoyed the scrumptious picnic that was provided by our own Head Chef.

Promoting the Home

Promoting the Home

In an effort to build links with the local community, we put up a stall at the local summer fete. The idea was to promote the home and show the local community what we are all about. The theme this year was 'Cowboys & Indians' and, with this in mind, Angie & Naomi (our activities team' donned their cowboy hates and ran a version of tin can alley with plastic cups and Nerf guns.
