Activities at Chorleywood Beaumont Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are regular weekly outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest including the local theatre and Cathedral's as well as visits from PAT dogs, visiting zoos, musicians and entertainers. We also host evenings such as our Pizza & Quiz Night that we encourage relatives to come to. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Chorleywood Beaumont Care Community is fun and active.

Chorleywood Beaumont got in the spirit of the Proms when Albert’s Band from the Royal Albert Hall visited to entertain residents with their fabulous Songbook Concert
Chorleywood Beaumont concert was in full swing as Alberts Band – Paul on Tuba, Rebecca on Trumpet and Thomas on Vocals and Guitar sang a medley of song’s and told tales about The Royal Albert Hall about some of the famous singers who had entertained there over the years. Their Songbook medley contained from Fred Astaire, The Beetles, Shirley Bassey and Ella Fitzgerald.
There was dancing and singing and Maisie 96 years young showed us how it was done. It was an absolute treat and we can not wait for them to come back.
A special thank you to Adeyinka and Lilian, local residents who nominated Chorleywood Beaumont to receive a visit form Alberts Band,

Chorleywood Beaumont presents Forever Cycling East Herts with grant.
Chorleywood Beaumont recently presented Forever Cycling East Herts with a grant to help support the amazing work they do. Forever Cycling East Herts allows residents of the district to cycle through Paris, Sydney or down a Thailand beach from the comfort of their own community centre, church or library. They project a route onto a screen which winds through the streets of some of the most iconic cities in the world while participants use their foot pedal units to cycle their way through a session. The project has not only proven to increase physical activity levels, with over half of our attendees classed as physical inactive before joining, they have introduced a real social element to the sessions.
The grant had been awarded by Barchester's Charitable Foundation, a charity that helps older people and adults with a disability or mental health problems across England, Scotland and Wales by offering grants to help people connect or re-connect with others in their local community.
Adam Howard - Project Lead, Forever Cycling East Herts said : "I have worked on many projects which aim to use physical activity to reduce social isolation but this has been a truly unique project to deliver. The benefits have been multiple as we have seen increased physical activity, growing social connections and some incredible reminiscence from the sessions. The stories I have heard from the participants have been so personal and with a number of attendees living with memory loss such as dementia, hearing stories of past glories has not only bought attendees to life, it's given me a real connection to each participant. Not only that, the partner work this project has seen is unrivalled in the work I have done before. From local community groups to NHS Social prescribers, East Herts has come together as a team to make this project a roaring success. The project has been a huge success so far and we could not have done it without funders such as The Barchester Charitable Foundation. Long may it continue."
Francis Lewis, who attend the Hertford Library sessions said: I am someone who has come to recognising the importance of fitting in some exercise rather late in life. The location and helpfulness of staff has been useful in overcoming any inertia as I could combine attending with a bit of local shopping. I have found the whole experience very positive and interesting combining exercise with the films. We have seen some lovely cities and countryside and made new friends.”
