Activities at Chorleywood Beaumont Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are regular weekly outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest including the local theatre and Cathedral's as well as visits from PAT dogs, visiting zoos, musicians and entertainers. We also host evenings such as our Pizza & Quiz Night that we encourage relatives to come to. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Chorleywood Beaumont Care Community is fun and active.

I joined Barchester in November 2016 as an senior care assistant and in May 2024 I became the Activity Lead at Chorleywood Beaumont.
It is a joy to work with such a great team and nothing makes me happier to bring joy and laughter into our residents daily lives.

Residents at Chorleywood Beaumont had a wonderful afternoon at the Gate Pub in Chorleywood. We enjoyed our favorite tipple and a selection of bar snacks.
John was joined by his daughter Lucy and said "I have had enjoyed it so much, I am looking forward to coming back again next week!"

Everyone at Chorleywood Beaumont has been avidly watching The UEFA European Women's Championship and we are absolutely delighted that England have made it to the finals!
We are so very proud of The Lionesses and want to wish them the best of luck when they take on Germany or France in the #WEURO2022 final at Wembley.
Best of luck England football team we will be watching and cheering you on.

Chorleywood Beaumont marked World Chess Day in style.
Some of our residents celebrated the day by playing in a chess tournaments and as you can see concentration was high for this strategic game,.
We enjoyed a glass of wine or sherry while we played and watched.
It was a close call between our final players -Harold, John N, John W and Adrian.
Congratulations to Adrian our over all winner.

National Cheese & Wine Day.
Chorleywood Beaumont had a fantastic time celebrating National Cheese & Wine Day on July 25th
Julija from our activities team and Head Chef, Emanuel, got together to source some local cheeses, as well as some more exotic ones, and paired them with all sorts of wines.
Residents had great fun trying different styles of wine with the different cheeses along with relishes, chutneys, grapes, plus a range of breads, biscuits and crackers. There was a lot of debate over which flavour combination was best, it was very hard to decide on a winner!
It was such fun we are going to do it again soon.

The Chorleywood Beaumont Pre Lunch drinks.
Just before lunch residents meet in the Cafe Bistro at Chorleywood for a sherry, glass of wine, gin & tonic or a good old cuppa before they enjoy a delicious lunch in the Terrace restaurant.
Our delicious menu for today is a choice of
Home made soup or Smoked salmon & cream Cheese on a bed of mixed leaves.
Followed by Butternut risotto or Haddock fillets and a selection of seasonal vegetables.
For dessert a selection of cheeses and fruit, Coffee sponge and a selection of ice creams.

Chorleywood Summer BBQ.
Its Pimm's O'clock
Chorleywood Beaumont had a wonderful afternoon at their Fund Raising BBQ. There was delicious BBQ food, sweet treats and plenty of Pimm's and Fizz. Residents were joined in our beautiful gardens by their loved ones, team members and members of the community and we danced along to live music on the band stand.
A fabulous afternoon was had by all and we raised much need's funds for the Barchester's Charitable Foundation after the Tour de Barchester.
