Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Activities Coordinator

Lucia Pivetta

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Lucia and I'm one of the Activities Coordinators here at Collingtree Park care home. My role is to enrich the lives of our residents by providing stimulating and person-centred activities. We offer something for everyone, including arts and crafts, games and live entertainment including visits to places of interest in the local area. I love to provide one-to-one time and sensory activities with residents who need a little more support.

Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular meetings with family and friends I can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining the Collingtree Park community.

We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Wine and Cheese Evening

Who doesn't love cheese and wine on a Friday night? We spent the most lovely evening with our residents, enjoying good company and a glass of wine whilst sampling a variety of cheeses. Eileen said "We must keep this in the diary as a regular event, it's so good to come together in the evening, I really enjoyed this".

Ray of Light - Friendship Group

Today we had the pleasure of attending the fortnightly 'Ray of Light' Dementia Friendly café hosted by resident and founding member; Pamela Wareham at King Richard Court in East Hunsbury.

Pamela invited General Manager, Nikki Allen to provide her guests with an update on Collingtree Park Care Home - Barchester Healthcare and the various community events open to everyone living at King Richard Court.

Nikki, joined by our Daisy Lane community Senior, Marina Vulc gave the group a brief overview of the care provision at Collingtree Park and outline of our facilities and dementia friendly activities; from monthly café to regular exercise classes, entertainers and our complimentary ‘Don't Dine Alone’ experiences.

The Q&A session was very informative for all parties. We look forward to the group members visiting our home in the not too distant future to spend time with the residents and extend each other’s friendship group.

We'd like to thank you again Pamela for welcoming us into your home, and send thank you's to all the wonderful people we met and spoke to within your Ray of Light group. We hope you all enjoyed chef's 'wear it pink' cake creation and hope to share coffee and cake with you again very soon.

Pub Visit with Local Parish Council

Today we were invited by our friends from the local Collingtree Parish Council to attend their coffee morning, hosted at The Wooden Walls Collingtree. Betty, Pam and I enjoyed a slice of carrot cake, and Betty shared her secret to longevity with us all. Apparently a hearty meal and 'grasping opportunity' are partly responsible.

On the way back, Pam said "It's lovely to get out and about, and I am so grateful that we are able to make the most of good conversation and better company". Betty agreed, saying "We must keep in contact with the community - it's easy to forget we are part of something bigger than ourselves, so getting out with everyone has been a great way to do this".
