Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Martin Tilly-Reed
Hello, my name is Martin, I'm the activities coordinator here at Collingtree Park
My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide is stimulating and inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.
Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Collingtree Park that will make for a richer activities program to be developed.
I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Happy birthday Isabella!
On her birthday, Isabella enjoyed a wonderful, pretty and pink cake by chef Tamara - just how Isabella likes it. She also enjoyed a visit from her daughter, cards cakes and flowers. We all enjoyed singing Happy Birthday and sharing a piece of cake with our afternoon tea.

Care Fees Planning Advice
We'd like to thank Nicholas Hamilton at Mazars and Joanne Chapman from EMW Law LLP for providing our guests with some invaluable advice on planning for the future at Collingtree Park yesterday. Your next opportunity to meet the experts is on 18th January 2024 at Elm Bank Care Home - Barchester Healthcare - all welcome.

Zing Entertains
We had a fabulous afternoon with Zing Entertainment yesterday in the Bluebell lounge. Singing classics from the 1940's and 50's era, our residents sang every word. Thank you Carole and Peter, we look forward to seeing you next week for the Festive season!

World Children's Day
As you will know, we celebrated BBC Children in Need last week, with residents making lots of lovely crafts, and dressing up brightly to recognise the work of this amazing charity.
As well as this, lots of our residents enjoyed visits from their children, grandchildren, and great-grand children over the weekend too! One of these residents was Jean, pictured with her daughter, grandchild and TWO great grand-children!

Children In Need Day
What a fabulous day we have had at Collingtree Park celebrating BBC Children in Need with our staff and residents. Manager Nikki and activities coordinator Skye were dressed for the occasion, and this morning we all enjoyed Pudsey themed crafting, and residents made each other friendship bracelets (spotty for Pudsey of course).
This afternoon we have enjoyed floor games and lovely yellow cupcakes courtesy of chef Tamara. We laid Pudsey colouring sheets for the visiting children - Well done to Luigi and Princess Rapunzel who shared their colouring with Bluebell Walk whilst visiting their great-grandma!

Pet Therapy with 'Eva'
This morning our residents enjoyed a visit from Pets As Therapy dog, Eva. Residents enjoyed petting, and feeding treats to Eva, and everyone commented on her cheekiness. Martin said "I have had six cocker spaniels in my life and they were good as gold. It's great to spend time with another one, she is a good girl".
Pet therapy allows animals to perform a companionship role to support emotional, social or cognitive needs. It’s suitable for people of all ages, including the elderly, and has been found to have many mental health benefits - which is probably why Eva is so popular in our home.
