Activities at Corrina Lodge Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Sharon Rickman
Hi, my name is Sharon, and I'm part of the activities team here at Corrina Lodge and have worked here for over 20 years. I thoroughly enjoy my job and have achieved an NVQ Level 3 in Activities whilst working here. During my time here, I have met some truly amazing people and I feel privileged to work in a home with such a sense of community.

Life at Corrina Lodge Care Home
St Patrick's Day
Residents enjoyed celebrating St Patrick's Day together. We made shamrocks brooches for the occasion and our wonderful Chef Kathleen gave us all the luck in the world with her delicious Guinness Cake and Irish Whisky demonstration and of course the very important tasting.
Rising to the Task
Our baking club turned their hand to bread this week, with General Manager Dumitru on hand to have a go too. Resident's enjoyed sharing their own tips on getting the 'perfect rise' and everyone enjoyed sampling their goods. Baking is a firm favourite in the home and much like previous bakes, the warm bread did not last long once out of the oven
Burns night Dundee cake
Residents had a wonderful afternoon and enjoyed baking a traditional Scottish fruit cake together. They enjoyed a slice of the end product with a cup of tea. The final verdict all round was delicious!
Jackson Pollock’s Birthday
Residents and staff had a fabulous time getting creative and celebrating abstract expressionist painter Jackson Pollock’s birthday who was born in 1912 and most well-known for his distinctive style of dripping, pouring and spraying paint to create distinctive designs. Residents said they had all had a real laugh and enjoyed spending time together.
International Flower Day
Residents here at Corrina Lodge celebrated International Flower Day together. There were fresh flower arrangements for the dining room tables and some wonderful flowers, created by using paper crafts.
The flowers looked wonderful and certainly added some vibrant colour to brighten our January.
Betty and Polly Pocket
Resident Betty thoroughly enjoyed meeting the very lovely Polly Pocket who is an absolutely beautiful 4 month old shih –poo puppy. Betty and Polly hit it off straight away and clearly enjoyed each other’s company. Polly also brought a smile to many of the staffs faces.
