Activities at Elm Bank Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Tina Prosho
Hello my name is Tina and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Elm Bank Care Home.
I joined Elm Bank in May 2023 as a Team Leader soon becoming the Head of Care before moving to the role of Activities Coordinator and leading the team in January 2024. My passion is to provide life enriching activities that enhance the lives of our residents.
By providing entertainment that is not only stimulating but person-centred. Our weekly calendar offers rich experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home of interest, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities. We are a pet friendly home and fully support the benefits animal therapy can bring to the lives of our residents and welcome animals of all kinds to the home on a regular basis.
Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Elm Bank that will make for a richer activities program to be developed. I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Elm Bank Care Home
Daisy Lane Disco
Residents on Daisy Lane have had an afternoon disco. We all enjoyed singing along to our favourite music. Playing some balloon tennis and making our own music.
PAT Therapy
We enjoy having our wonderful PAT dog Bonnie visit us every Monday. The residents get to stroke and give treats to Bonnie and reminisce about dogs that they’ve own growing up.
Alpaca’s
We’ve been wrapping up warm and heading outside for another wonderful visit from Dani and Nick who brought their fluffy and well behaved Alpacas to come and see us all at Elm Bank Care Home. We enjoy having our fluffy friends visit, their incredibly soft and they enjoy lots of treats and fuss.
Aliens Love Underpants
Today is 'Read a Book Day' and we were delighted to welcome Railway Children Nursery to Elm Bank. They brought their favourite books and we thought Aliens Love Underpants was great!
Our weekly bends and stretches
Today we enjoyed our regular weekly fitness class. Over the last few weeks many of us have seen improvements in our fitness, flexibility and mobility. We look forward to Elena and Bekki's visit every Friday morning - our favourite exercises involve the colourful scarves.
Music, games and colour on our magic table
We have had Elm Bank's interactive Magic Table out this week and residents have enjoyed playing the piano, making colourful paintings and playing well known games. This activity makes us all feel happy and calm, staff and residents! Visitors are welcome to try it, too.

Monthly Community Café
Come along to our dementia friendly café 'Third Monday each month' from 2.30pm-4.00pm, meet with friends, enjoy light refreshments and a variety of activities.
Community Games Afternoon
We're welcoming our local community, families, and friends for a lovely weekly get-together.Join us every Thursday from 2-3.30pm for board games, floor games, and more!
Blue Light Breakfast
If you are part of the Emergency Services please drop by and have breakfast on us. The last Friday of the month 07.30am to 11.00am.
