Activities at Elm Bank Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Hello my name is Tina and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Elm Bank Care Home.
I joined Elm Bank in May 2023 as a Team Leader soon becoming the Head of Care before moving to the role of Activities Coordinator and leading the team in January 2024. My passion is to provide life enriching activities that enhance the lives of our residents.
By providing entertainment that is not only stimulating but person-centred. Our weekly calendar offers rich experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home of interest, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities. We are a pet friendly home and fully support the benefits animal therapy can bring to the lives of our residents and welcome animals of all kinds to the home on a regular basis.
Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Elm Bank that will make for a richer activities program to be developed. I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Elm Bank Care Home
Nursery - Pizza Activity
This morning we had a visit from Abeona Warkton Nursery Kettering Northamptonshire who joined in with our morning food activity. We all worked together to make some pizzas for the residents to have for their evening meal. The pizzas were wonderfully made and had a variety of toppings.
100th Birthday Celebrations
Today we celebrated the 100th Birthday of Alfred. Family came to join Alfred's special day and together with his Wife had a wonderful afternoon with his family and finished it off with cake, handmade by our kitchen staff. Happy 100th Birthday Alfred, from everyone at Elm Bank Care Home.
Employee of the Month - October 2022
Vicky one of our Care Assistants on Bluebell Walk was awarded Employee of the Month for October. Vicky has been awarded for being a team player and showing great compassion to the residents. Well done Vicky from everyone at Elm Bank Care Home.
We'll Meet Again
Yesterday Fiona Harrison - A Voice in a Million performed her "We'll Meet Again" - Remembrance Performance. We loved hearing some of our favourite war time songs and we all sang along.
Animal Therapy Session
Friday we had a visit from Animals in Mind, we invited along Railway Children Nursery to join our animal therapy session. It was wonderful to see the residents and children interact whilst enjoying meeting all the animals. What an experience we all had!
Children In Need Fundraiser
Today we held our Children in Need Fundraiser for Isaac and Jack!

Monthly Community Café
Come along to our dementia friendly café 'Third Monday each month' from 2.30pm-4.00pm, meet with friends, enjoy light refreshments and a variety of activities.
Community Games Afternoon
We're welcoming our local community, families, and friends for a lovely weekly get-together.Join us every Thursday from 2-3.30pm for board games, floor games, and more!
Blue Light Breakfast
If you are part of the Emergency Services please drop by and have breakfast on us. The last Friday of the month 07.30am to 11.00am.
