Activities at Elm Bank Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Tina Prosho
Hello. I am Tina, I have been a team member at Elm Bank since 2023 and began my career as a Team Leader and was upskilled to Head of Care before moving my role to become Activities Coordinator.
I am passionate individual with vibrant character and my goal is all about life enriching activities that enhance the lives of our residents. I ensure that the entertainment is stimulating and is inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers rich experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home of interest, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities. We are a pet friendly home and fully support the benefits animal therapy can bring to the lives of our residents and welcome animals of all kinds to the home on a regular basis.
Getting to know our residents better is so important to me, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Elm Bank that will make for a richer activities program to be developed. I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact me direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Life at Elm Bank Care Home
Christmas Concert with Pytchley Primary School
Residents at Elm Bank spent lots of time practicing Christmas carols for a Zoom concert with Pytchley Church of England Primary School. Residents chose to sing ‘Away in a manger’ and ‘Walking in a winter wonderland’. In return the school children sang ‘Santa got stuck up the chimney’ and ‘Little donkey’. We loved seeing each other again for another emotional singalong.
A visit from Ronnie the dog
Elm Bank has had a very special festive visit from Santa’s little helper! Ronnie the therapy dog visited each community to spread some Christmas cheer. He received lots of treats and strokes, and residents enjoyed throwing balls for him to retrieve.
Chocolate Brownie Day
To mark Chocolate Brownie Day we baked some brownies in every community at Elm Bank. Food activities are very popular among Elm Bank residents, and we enjoy our daily treats from the kitchen team. But today our treats tasted extra special as we had made them ourselves.
Family visit in our new visiting suite
We are delighted to see so many families catching up with each other in Elm Bank's new Covid-secure visiting suite. Both sides of the suite are warm and comfortable, with drink-making facilities for relatives. Visitors enter the suite from our garden and speak to their loved one through a large window. We have installed a speaker system to make sure family members and residents can hear each other clearly and the suite is cleaned after every visit. We are delighted to have received so much positive feedback about our new visiting suite.
Elf Day
At Elm Bank we celebrated national Elf Day by dressing up, having fun and raising some money for Alzheimer's Society. Our naughty Elves on the Shelves made their presence known and we played 'Guess the name of the elf'. It was a great day with lots of laughter as we enjoyed raffles, games, music, quizzes and festive drinks. We had a competitive Snowman beetle drive with teams of residents seeing who could build the snowman the quickest. Residents and staff dressed in elf outfits and the day was full of festive cheer.
Making the Elm Bank Christmas Cake
We celebrated National Cake Day by making the Elm Bank Christmas cake! Residents made their lovely, rich, fruity Christmas cake from scratch and we look forward to decorating it and enjoying it over Christmas.
