Activities at Friston House Care Home
Our activity coordinators are constantly working to stimulate our residents both mentally and physically by organising group and individual activities for every one within the home to participate in. We have regular outings in our mini bus to various attractions within the area and in the summer we like to take our residents to the seaside, where they can enjoy fish and chips by the beach. Our activity programme is just one of the important aspects of the care home and we try our best to arrange the activities that our residents will enjoy.
David Johnson
I am David, I have been working at Friston House since December of 2023.
I have a background in the visitor attraction sector as an events and activities manager, working with families to create engaging, fun activities that result in long-lasting memories. It is my belief that care home activities should be just as fun, engaging, inclusive to all and worthwhile. Either as a group, self-led or on a one-to-one basis.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Friston House Care Home
Visiting Rochester Cathedral
Residents from Friston House recently enjoyed a lovely trip out to the Rochester Cathedral. We had a lovely time looking around and enjoyed coffee in the Crypt. Residents enjoyed learning about the history of the cathedral, and we were shocked to find it is the 2nd oldest in England.
Motorbike Display
Residents at Friston House Care Home in Rochester were delighted when they had 15 motorbikes pull up outside the care home on Saturday.
The residents got the opportunity to look around at 15 bikes from the Triumph Owners Motor Cycle Club, residents were fascinated when they got to learn about the history and stories behind the motorbikes.
Rice Crispy Cakes
We had a lovely time recently making our own rice crispy cakes! Our residents loved doing something a bit different, especially when they knew they could eat them at the end! We are hoping to introduce more food related activities into our weekly schedule.
Owl Academy
Wow what a treat we had recently when The Kent Owl Academy came to visit! Charlotte was so wonderful with our residents, telling them all about the owls and giving them the chance to interact and learn about their different species. We truly enjoyed this unique experience.
Pukka Ponies
Earlier this week we had such a wonderful visit from Pukka Ponies Equine Rescue, Kent, our residents absolutely adored having a cuddle and getting to meet Mini Maggie! We are so fortunate to have these amazing unique opportunities for our residents to enjoy!
Armchair Exercise with Hannah!
We were recently joined by our wonderful armchair exercise instructor Hannah who was accompanied by Beau, a student from her dance school. The residents absolutely loved taking part in some easy exercises from the comfort of their chair, especially with the help from young beau.
Such a great morning for everyone involved!
