Activities at Glebefields Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Glebefields Care Home
Hymns from Tudor Hall
Tudor Hall School from Bloxham brought smiles and festive cheer to our residents and staff. The talented students entertained us with joyful hymns and wonderful musical performances. Our residents joined in, sharing the vibe of the season. A big thank you to the students for their amazing talents, and as a token of appreciation, we gifted them small festive surprises.
Sandra's Festive Saxophone
We had a lovely afternoon filled with the festive tunes of Sandra Grant, a talented singer and musician playing her tenor saxophone and flute. The Christmas spirit was in the air, and everyone joined in the Happiness. Marlene shared; "It was very nice, and I enjoyed it a lot." The magic of Christmas unfolded through music, creating happy moments for all of us to treasure.
M&S Christmas Magic
We had a festive day out with our lovely residents Marlene, Tom, and Christine, accompanied by our wonderful staff, on a delightful Christmas shopping trip to M&S Gateway! We walked around, picking out holiday treats to make this season even more special.
After our shopping, we gathered for a well-deserved lunch, sharing delicious bites and funny stories. It wasn't just about the gifts; it was about creating cherished memories and enjoying the festive spirit together. As we carried our bags filled with holiday treasures, our smiles reflect the joy of the season. Here's to more festive adventures full of the wonder of Christmas!
Christmas Cake and Crafty Wreaths
On the 6th day of Christmas our residents enjoyed putting the flourishing touches to our Barchester Christmas Cake Competition entry. The planning for their design started back in November, all agreeing they wished to create a traditional festive wreath.
With hand-crafted holly leaves using firmed coloured icing and a cutter placed and stuck into position with liquid icing, before rolling each iced red berry to finish the overall look.
In the afternoon our crafty residents continued the Christmas Wreath theme making individual ones for their room doors from cardboard covered in crape paper and decorated with embellishments of their personal choice.
Well done everyone, all your wreaths look amazing!
