Activities at Glebefields Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Lovely moments with Furry friends

We had an amazing time at Glebefields recently when Lucia paid us a visit with her adorable furry friends! From fluffy bunnies to a playful dog named Coco, our residents had a lovely time cuddling and playing with these wonderful animals.

Joan, Diane, and Edith Minnie couldn't stop smiling as they interacted with our furry guests, showering them with love and treats. Joan, our lovely resident, shared, ''Spending time with these petting animals is so refreshing! It really lifts my happiness and energises me.''

Our staff also joined in on the fun, sharing laughter and creating unforgettable memories. It was a day filled with happy moments and laughter, showing the special bond between humans and animals.

'Run Rabbit' Fun

We had an entertainment by Nick Golden, and our residents had a wonderful time singing along to familiar tunes from the 50s. During the performance, Mike, the son of one of our residents, joined in the fun by taking on the role of a farmer in the classic song "Run Rabbit Run". He even got our activities Coordinator Kay up to dance too! The room was filled with smiles and laughter, creating a joyful atmosphere enjoyed by all!

National Chocolate Day !

We celebrated National Chocolate Day with a fun activity: making home made chocolate cupcakes! Residents and staff gathered in the kitchen to create these delicious treats from ground up.

Our lovely resident Joan shared her home made recipe and fond memories of baking cupcakes for her children. It was a very happy moment as we mixed the batter, filled the cupcake liners, and added decorations.

Everyone chatted and smiled, making it a sweet and memorable day for all of us! At the end of the day, when we each got to enjoy our own home made cupcake, the happiness was visible.

Burn's Night Bakes and Celebrations

We had a lovely time celebrating Robert Burns Day with our residents and staff. We started the day with a tasty Scottish lunch of Scotch broth, fish pie with neeps, and cranachan for dessert. Then, we all gathered to enjoy some Scottish music and learn about Robbie Burns. After that, we had fun making shortbread together. Our home was decorated with festive decorations, and everyone had smiles on their faces. It was a day full of laughter, music, and tasty treats - a celebration to remember.
