Activities at Glenroyd Care Home
Here at the Glenroyd our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. Everyone is different and gets pleasure from different things and here at Glenroyd we understand that and therefore try to provide a programme of activity that is tailored to individuals needs. We do this by gathering information and life history work and using that information to feed into our activities schedule. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.
Agata Prendota
Hi, my name is Agata Prendota and I am the activities coordinator here at Glenroyd. I have worked at Glenroyd since 2014 and in April 2022 transferred to activities. I developed a strong relationship with many of our residents and their families. This has helped me to create a tailored activities program focused on maximizing everyone’s wellbeing, independence, and social engagement.
It is my goal to create a stimulating environment that enables to provide imaginative, fun, and motivational activities that suit every interest and ability. My infectious enthusiasm and creative approach are the key to inspire our residents and staff to get involved in activities both within the home and in the local community.
I am passionate about my role and especially the challenge of coming up with new ways to engage as many residents as possible in daily activities.

Life at Glenroyd Care Home
Coffee and News Morning
During one of our coffee and news morning, we read aloud the newspapers together and talk about any topics of interests, there was a news article with a picture of a plane, Gordon had then offered to show us how he makes paper plane’s that he had not done it for many years.
We then enjoyed a lot of fun throwing and catching the plane, it truly is the simple little things that can bring a lot of smiles and create a lot of fun.
Advice for the Younger Generation
We started a little project called advice for the younger generation and we asked the residents what advice would they give to the younger generation?
We got a lot of good advice and this one Keith had gave was ‘To love your job’ Keith said he has always loved every job he has had and that is what gave him very happy life and he also said he can see all the staff have extreme love for their jobs here at Glenroyd, we will be sharing our advice with the local schools.
Clapping for Carers
Eunice has recently seen on the news the whole nation clapping for carers, NHS and all key workers. Eunice had said it had inspired her and she would like to thank everyone here at Glenroyd for all of the amazing care she receives and friendships and will continue to clap for Glenroyd.
Luncheon Club
We have recently launched a luncheon club each day in the conservatory to be wined and dined on, we have had amazing feedback from their experiences and Mary said ‘ it’s like having dinner at the Ritz, so relaxing.
Gardening Project
We have been busy in our garden looking after all of our flowers daily. We have also planted our sunflowers outside that we started growing and cannot wait to see them bloom!
Harold enjoys his daily visits to the garden to water all the plants and flowers and likes to reminisce about his job as a gardener and is very happy to be able to continue do his favourite hobby.
Raspberry Bun Baking
We have been continuing our weekly baking club and this week we decided to make raspberry jam buns which tasted amazing. We always enjoy the whole experience of baking and also implementing our lifestyle activities into this by washing the pots after and cleaning the kitchen which is very enjoyable on our memory lane communities.
