Activities at Harper Fields Care Home

There is always something to do here at Harper Fields and always someone to assist the residents in any activity they wish to take part in. We have entertainers come into the home to sing and play instruments on a weekly basis, as well as visits from PAT dogs, hairdressers, massage therapists and nail technicians to pamper those who live here. Residents' spiritual needs are taken into account at Harper Fields; we have regular services from the Catholic and Methodist church, in addition to the Church of England, and for our non-religious residents, we have a weekly calming and peaceful ‘mindfulness and meditation group,’ which is very popular, especially for those living with dementia. Residents often like to attend cinema evenings to watch their favourite films on the big screen (complete with sweets and popcorn), or develop new skills at our computer classes, where they can learn how to Skype their families in other countries. Our activities are tailored to suit the individual interests and capabilities of residents and our specialised equipment enables those we support to enjoy everything we have to offer.

Visiting Brighter Life Students

Mini bus trip with Harper Fields curling champions team to visit the Brighter life students. You will see there was sound of laughter during the whole bus journey and we even got a chance to stop at our neighbours field to pet the horses. We had a chance while we were out to play games, chat and drink endless cups of tea. Can’t wait until next time, Alan said.

Father's Day

Today we treated all of our residents to a special celebration for father’s day.

We took some time in our bar area to celebrate with bar snacks, beer and pug games. Resident Agnes was super excited to finally have some male scrabble partners. You will also see that our bar area has been transformed for the euro’s and we are looking forward to cheering along.

National Carers Week

We took an opportunity to thank the handful of amazing care assistants at Harper Fields on duty. Not forgetting to leave some special treats for the night team also. Barchester treated the care staff to a selection of chocolates and sweets as a thank you reminding them how wonderful they are.

General Manager Hayley is so proud to work alongside a team that work hard work every day with passion and dedication to provide care for all our residents.

Enjoying our Beautuful Gardens

What a busy few days we have had at Harper Fields. We enjoyed some arts and crafts with volunteer Sandra and some lovely walks around the grounds with friends. We are so lucky to have 5 separate garden areas and two balcony areas for memory lane community. Joyce as you can see enjoyed the sunshine and the walk around the whole external path.
