Activities at Harper Fields Care Home

There is always something to do here at Harper Fields and always someone to assist the residents in any activity they wish to take part in. We have entertainers come into the home to sing and play instruments on a weekly basis, as well as visits from PAT dogs, hairdressers, massage therapists and nail technicians to pamper those who live here. Residents' spiritual needs are taken into account at Harper Fields; we have regular services from the Catholic and Methodist church, in addition to the Church of England, and for our non-religious residents, we have a weekly calming and peaceful ‘mindfulness and meditation group,’ which is very popular, especially for those living with dementia. Residents often like to attend cinema evenings to watch their favourite films on the big screen (complete with sweets and popcorn), or develop new skills at our computer classes, where they can learn how to Skype their families in other countries. Our activities are tailored to suit the individual interests and capabilities of residents and our specialised equipment enables those we support to enjoy everything we have to offer.

Life at Harper Fields Care Home

Enjoying our Beautuful Gardens

What a busy few days we have had at Harper Fields. We enjoyed some arts and crafts with volunteer Sandra and some lovely walks around the grounds with friends. We are so lucky to have 5 separate garden areas and two balcony areas for memory lane community. Joyce as you can see enjoyed the sunshine and the walk around the whole external path.

Easter Celebrations

We have celebrated Easter with some church services watched on TV with some Easter cakes from the wonderful kitchen team, Lesley said she loved the music during the service and in particular all things bright and beautiful. Finally some Easter bonnet making ahead of our parade next week. There was lots of friendly competitions taking place for the crowned the winner of Harper Fields.

What amazing team members we have!

Our very own Kitchen assistant Sonia started a baking club today and it was a real hit. Not only was there baking and tasty treats to eat but there was lots of chatting and laughter to be heard from the kitchen. Vera said it reminding her of all of the years she enjoyed cooking for the family. Can't wait to see what's next on the menu.

We are so very lucky to have our own mini bus, yesterday we ventured to the Coventry motor museum. We had an opportunity to look at some of the old vehicles and have a spot of lunch. Lots of plans for spring as the warmer weather approaches.

Introducing freckles

When we were contacted by Spencer’s retreat we jumped at the chance to help by sponsoring the famous sheep. The residents love a visit and we are busy planning our next visit.

Mother’s day

Today we celebrated all of the mums and motherly figures in our home! We had an Afternoon Tea. Lots of visitors and love for our residents today and it's always lovely seeing them so happy and surrounded by their loved ones
