Activities at Harper Fields Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
There is always something to do here at Harper Fields and always someone to assist the residents in any activity they wish to take part in. We have entertainers come into the home to sing and play instruments on a weekly basis, as well as visits from PAT dogs, hairdressers, massage therapists and nail technicians to pamper those who live here. Residents' spiritual needs are taken into account at Harper Fields; we have regular services from the Catholic and Methodist church, in addition to the Church of England, and for our non-religious residents, we have a weekly calming and peaceful ‘mindfulness and meditation group,’ which is very popular, especially for those living with dementia. Residents often like to attend cinema evenings to watch their favourite films on the big screen (complete with sweets and popcorn), or develop new skills at our computer classes, where they can learn how to Skype their families in other countries. Our activities are tailored to suit the individual interests and capabilities of residents and our specialised equipment enables those we support to enjoy everything we have to offer.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Harper Fields Care Home

Sensory experience
This morning we were transported away to a world of relaxation during a Sensory Sound experience.
We explored the benefits of many therapeutic and holistic musical instruments such as crystal bowls, tibetan/himalayan bowls, ocean drums, rainsticks, chimes, tongue drums, glockenspiel and shakers, with visuals of beautiful beach sunsets to set the scene. What a wonderful way to start the day!

Afternoon tea
Oh what a treat! We pulled out the fancy bone china for a very posh afternoon tea with scones, jam and clotted cream - yum!
Residents enjoy their popular afternoon tea treats with delicious home made cakes whilst chatting to new and old friends, sharing stories and frequently engaging in that all time classic question - is it jam or cream first!
We extend a warm invitation to our friends in our community to join us. Everyone is always welcome.

A trip out and about
We had a fabulous minibus trip out to the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum this morning!
We delved into the history of Coventry, learnt all about Lady Godiva and took a look at the amazing displays of oil paintings and sculptures. Our very smartly dressed Ivan got a lovely picture with Lady Godiva and Penny posed for us in front of King George III's portrait. Our amazing kitchen team packed us a yummy picnic that we enjoyed very much after the tour.
Thank you to our fantastic team at Harper Fields for continuing to inspire these incredible big smiles all around

Trip to Lichfield Cathedral
What a busy start to the full week of activities planned. First we were treated to a trip to Lichfield cathedral with our volunteer driver to take a look at the beautifully decorated Christmas trees.
