Activities at Herne Place Care Home
Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure are a major focus of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat is always be welcomed.

Indoor games for staying active
The weather could be unpredictable when going out for a walk in the garden, but our residents never failed to stay active with interesting indoor games. From catch and throw to parachute ball games, we have several games of interest.
Residents can choose their favourite games, and they always have so much fun, and it gives them something to keep their bodies moving.

Church service enlightened our home
Our home is always lifted spiritually by the service of Rev. Chris Denyer and group. This is the time of reflection, prayer and blessings. Our residents cherish their memories of going to church services, and it brings a sense of belonging after having conversations with the group and other peers.
Bi-Weekly service always helped our residents to elevate their faith and inner peace of mind.

Rocking with Rick the singer
We welcomed back Rick, a fabulous singer and entertainer whose energy and talent always light up the room with lively music and dance. Our residents were enjoying by clapping , tapping their feet and even joining for little moves with him. His playlist takes them back to the good old days and the room was filled with joy and laughter.
Residents can’t wait for the next session with him.

Herne Place 5th Birthday
We had an amazing time celebrating our wonderful 5th birthday party!
From music and dancing to delicious treats, laughter filled the air as everyone joined in the fun.
Out in the garden
Our wonderful residents took a trip to the garden, and it was a delight to see everyone enjoying the fresh air and sunshine.
Long distance calls
One of the residents of Herne Place had a video call with her son, as he lives abroad.
In an age where technology bridges distance, video calling has emerged as a vital lifeline for families with loved ones in care homes.
Beautiful Melodies
Beautiful melodies filled the halls with joy and nostalgia, bringing smiles and memories to everyone.
Music truly has the power to connect us, no matter our age.

Nature walk to local shop
We have been enjoying lots of walks to the shop this week with lots of singing and enjoying some fresh air.
We enjoyed our donuts and a cup of coffee with our residents singing ‘It’s a Long Way to Tipperary’, keeping our reception area and Co-Op entertained!
Valentine's Flower Arranging
Today, during our Arts & Crafts Club, we took the time in making our own flower bouquets with some flower arranging.
We had lots of smiles and laughter during this activity. Staff also went around the home gifting a flower to residents in their room, which brought joy and laughter throughout the home!

Garden Centre Trip!
We enjoyed an amazing minibus trip to our local garden centre.
We even saw a Robin Redbreast that came very close to us in the garden centre!
Wack a Mole
Today our residents enjoyed our very own version of Wack a Mole!
Our activities team made their way around the home offering carnival games, bringing the fairground to them in the comfort of their own home.
Wack a Mole was our residents' favourite game!
Ice Cream trip to the Seafront
We had a fabulous afternoon trip to the beach with some of our residents!
We spent the afternoon admiring the lovely views in our local town and also stopped for a delicious ice cream on the seafront!
Luckily the sun was out!
Lots of smiles all round!

Herne Place Sports Day
A fantastic Saturday with our homes Sports Day with Staff VS Staff. Our residents had the pleasure of cheering their team on as we competed against each other to win Sports Day!
We had games throughout the day with football, egg and spoon race, tug of war and piggy back race. Our residents were a great crowd.
One of our residents said “That was absolutely brilliant, can we have another Sports Day! I really enjoyed that, well done!” Here is to our next Sports Day!

A visit to Briary Pre School
We would like to thank Briary Pre School for a lovely cream tea! It was delicious! We spoke with the little children while enjoying a lovely scone and a glass of lemonade, we also had the opportunity to hear the children singing some songs for us too.

Minibus Trip to Herne Bay Seafront
We had a lovely trip to Herne Bay Seafront recently and our residents got to see the children on the pier crabbing, we was also admiring the old pier and reminiscing memories of when our residents used to visit the beach with their families.
