Activities at Herne Place Care Home

Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure are a major focus of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat is always be welcomed.

Sophie Glasgow

Activities Coordinator

My name is Sophie, I am the Activities Coordinator here at Herne Place Care Home. It is my duty to ensure all residents feel happy and content. I love my job because I enjoy seeing our residents smiling and having fun on a daily basis.

I enjoy getting to know all of our residents on a one-to-one basis and in a group setting. This allows me to get to know their hobbies and ambitions as individuals, and fulfil these with life enriching activities they appreciate and will benefit from.

A Party Fit for a King

Herne Place Care Home celebrates the coronation of His Majesty, King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla together with the rest of country. Our residents, their families and friends were indulged with a tastey buffet, serenaded by the beguiling voice of Holly, then a toast for the King with bubbles! We can't wait for the next reason for a party!

LOVELY STROLL TO THE SHOPS

There's only one thing to do on a lovely day like today and that's to have a nice stroll to the shop and to have an ice-cream.

A VISIT FROM THE VOLUNTARY BAND REMINISCENT'S

Last week, we had a visit from Rosie and The Reminiscent's band. They joined us to play a range of different instruments and perform some classic songs.

The residents enjoyed a Sing-a-long and a cuddle with Nellie the dog.

SINGING FOR THE BRAIN

Last week we had our first Singing for the Brain session with the lovely Hollie Firmin.

Hollie will be joining us every other Thursday morning for our Singing of the Brain sessions.

PAMPER & A CHAT

There is nothing like a being pampered and getting your nails done, along with a good old chat to put the world to rights.

LOVE TO MOVE

Our residents have enjoyed an afternoon session of virtual armchair exercises with Love to Move which is hosted by the British Gymnastics Foundation.
