Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure are a major focus of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat is always be welcomed.

My name is Sophie, I am the Activities Coordinator here at Herne Place Care Home. It is my duty to ensure all residents feel happy and content. I love my job because I enjoy seeing our residents smiling and having fun on a daily basis.
I enjoy getting to know all of our residents on a one-to-one basis and in a group setting. This allows me to get to know their hobbies and ambitions as individuals, and fulfil these with life enriching activities they appreciate and will benefit from.

It's Roberts Birthday
Earlier this week we celebrated Robert, our fabulous General Manager's, Birthday.
Birthday's are big here at Herne Place, we seldom miss the opportunity to make a cake and celebrate
Staff and residents here at Herne Place enjoyed seeing Roberts office decorated and he even had a surprise visit from some of his other team at Sutton Valence Care Home - Barchester Healthcare

Tuesdays is Armchair Exercise Day - Look out for Robert
Tuesday's at Herne Place is keep fit morning hosted by our very own Thelma. Its fabulous to see how many of our residents and staff want to get involved with this class. In this picture you can see our Manager Robert Dura May stretching away and joining in with the residents.
Happy Birthday Doreen
We love to celebrate our residents birthday's here at Herne Place, helping them make their day special. This is Doreen celebrating her recent birthday, along with the delicious pink cake made by our fabulous kitchen team
Shandy and Chips a perfect afternoon
Our varied life enrichment programme keeps residents active, and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities. This can be either as a 1-1 activity or in the form of a group activity.
Our resident Stan, has had an 1-1 activity to Herne Bay which consisted of a game of mini golf, arcades and finished off very nicely with a portion of chips and a shandy on the sea front.
Elvis Presley's Birthday Celebrations
We had a very special visitor here at the home for Elvis' birthday as the King of Rock 'n' Roll showed up at the home! We had a great day listening to all his hits and dancing the day away.
Christmas and New Year Celebrations!
We have had a great time celebrating throughout Christmas and the New Year. Singing and dancing the days away. We wish everyone a very happy 2022!
