Activities at Hugh Myddelton House Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Hugh Myddelton House Care Home
Enable goes live
Enable” is part of Barchester’s digital transformation strategy. Yesterday marks a special day that we are going digital using the enable online system, we are looking forward to the bright future using it. The platform was designed to improve streamline care, this helps us with keeping track of important updates, getting to know our residents better and enhancing the overall care experience for our residents which is a huge factor for us. Were looking forward to embracing this technology the positive changes it brings to our home.

Trip to Garden centre
Residents, staff and relative ambassador from Hugh Myddelton home were excited as we went out to local garden centre to buy plants that could thrive in colder conditions as well as décor for our garden as the festive winter season is coming up. For many of our residents, gardening had been a lifelong passion and having a chance to pick out our winter blooming plants was exciting, as we all were eagerly anticipated too. Following day, we spent the morning painting the benches and planter box giving the garden a fresh and vibrant look. The light colours we painted brought out the colours on the flowers which made our residents happy. Later on in the evening we enjoyed a peaceful flower arranging session with Pat where residents got creative with their favourite flowers. It was a wonderful day to spend time together, as well as making the garden even more beautiful for everyone to enjoy.
