Activities at Hugh Myddelton House Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Hello my name is Gunel and I joined Barchester team 2020 promoted to Activities Coordinator in November 2022
I love spending time with the residents and getting to know them on personal level, this helps me to support residents to participate and enjoy all the activities in the home. I am really enjoying my role as an Activities Co-Ordinator at Hugh Myddelton House and look forward to meeting you soon.

We felt so special this Grandparents Day.
Local Children recieved special cards from us to colour in and give to Grandparents. We recieved so many for our residents at Hugh Myddelton.

Celebrating healthy eating week!
Residents enjoyed a morning of fruity activity making tropical fruit kebabs from a colourful array of fruits prepared by the chef, they tasted as good as they look! We all exceeded our target of five fruits today and look forward to the next food based activity
Sensory mats handmade for our memory lane residents
Thank you to local resident, Zita, for donating handmade sensory mats to our memory lane community. Designed to provide a soothing and stimulating activity for people living with dementia they can be lap 'mats' or placed on a table. Proven to ease restless hands the different designs have a number of fabrics with textures, colours and trims which encourage engagement
