Activities at Hunters Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Ben Sandall
Hello I am Ben and I am the Activities Coordinator at Hunters. I started working at Hunters as part of the hospitality team, but when a vacancy came up on the activities team I jumped at the opportunity. I have seen how important a varied activities programme is and the team ensure we offer something for everyone including regular past times.

Christmas Card Creations
Residents at Hunters spent the afternoon making Christmas cards, with everyone getting in the festive spirit during an arts and crafts session. They will send the finished cards to friends and family members.
Christmas Preparations
It’s that time of year again at Hunters; residents have been busy getting into the spirit of the festive season by decorating the home's Christmas trees. When they finished, they were able to sit back and admire their hard work, with everyone in the home now in the mood for Christmas and the festive entertainment.
Regiment Visit
We were excited to be joined by members of the 29th Regiment, based in South Cerney, as part of our community engagement programme. We held a coffee morning so that residents could meet the soldiers with a view to further joint activities. Everyone had a good chat, with many residents reminiscing about their own time in the armed services.
Minibus Trip
Residents enjoy regular minibus trips and, most recently, we headed out to Lechlade Garden Centre to look at the Christmas Fayre, followed by tea and cake.
War Medals
At this time of year, when we come to commemorate those who lost their lives in armed conflict, residents like to show respect in their own personal way. Every year, Jeff proudly wears his campaign medals from the Second World War, and underneath those are his father's medals from the Great War.
