Activities at Hunters Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Ben Sandall
Hello I am Ben and I am the Activities Coordinator at Hunters. I started working at Hunters as part of the hospitality team, but when a vacancy came up on the activities team I jumped at the opportunity. I have seen how important a varied activities programme is and the team ensure we offer something for everyone including regular past times.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Hunters Care Home
Harvest Festival
We hosted our annual Harvest Festival service recently; every year, we make a collection to donate to Cirencester Food Bank. We were also joined by Don, the vicar from our local parish.
Music for the Soul
We welcomed back Neil Patterson, who entertained residents with an afternoon of jazz and soul.
Anniversary Celebrations
Residents, Keith and Margaret, celebrated a special wedding anniversary recently; the couple has spent sixty three years happily married. They spent the day together, as always, as they are never apart. Congratulations Keith and Margaret!
Mindsong at Hunters
Mindsong is a local charity that visits care homes in Gloucestershire, providing residents with musical interaction and therapy.
Recently, Hunters was selected to take part in a photoshoot for Mindsong's new brochures, promoting the good work that they do. Residents at Hunters were asked to take part and the pictures were taken by a professional photographer, who caught the mood perfectly.
Snakes & Ladders
Games are always popular here at Hunters, especially during a wet afternoon. Not only do the residents have fun, but games also help with improving movement and coordination.
Knitting Circle
Our knitting club is always very popular here at Hunters. At the moment, residents are knitting squares to make into blankets. Pictured above is Hilda who, even at 102 years of age, is one of the mosre sprightly members of the group.
