Activities at Hurstwood View Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Lisa Everson
I’m Lisa, Activities Coordinator here at Hurstwood View.
I’ve been working at Hurstwood View in varying departments since 2017, shortly after the birth of my second child. With a strong background in Marketing, events, and community engagement - Activities is a great fit for me! I love arranging events and making a difference to our residents’ day. I’ve never danced so much since working here, no day is ever the same, and we really do have so much fun!

Life at Hurstwood View Care Home
Bible Studies
Residents enjoyed bible studies with volunteer, Geoff, in the garden.
Time in the Garden
Residents have been enjoying the sunshine outside, whether it has been by seeing family or walking around the grounds.
Easter Egg Hunt
We welcomed local people to come and do a hunt, then collect a prize from the front of the home. Residents sat in the lounges and café and waved whilst enjoying hot cross buns and tea. Residents were given Easter eggs and plants on Easter Sunday to enjoy.
Collage Making
Residents created some collages from magazine cuttings. They enjoyed spending time looking through all the different pictures before creating their final piece.
V&A Dundee - Mary Quant
Residents watched a talk on the fashion revolution via Zoom. Some residents tried on various articles of clothing and looked at jewellery also.
St Patrick's Day
We celebrated with exercise and Irish dancing in the morning, followed by refreshments. Our kitchen produced a tasty themed menu, including Guinness mousse and Irish stew. In the afternoon we had Jon McDevitt via Zoom singing some Irish tunes.
