Activities at Hurstwood View Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Lisa Everson
I’m Lisa, Activities Coordinator here at Hurstwood View.
I’ve been working at Hurstwood View in varying departments since 2017, shortly after the birth of my second child. With a strong background in Marketing, events, and community engagement - Activities is a great fit for me! I love arranging events and making a difference to our residents’ day. I’ve never danced so much since working here, no day is ever the same, and we really do have so much fun!

Life at Hurstwood View Care Home
Christmas Preparations
Christmas preparations have begun; we have been busy getting the home and presents ready for our loved ones.
Winter Gardening
During the last of the warmer days, our maintenance team have been working hard with residents to ensure the gardens are tidy and ready for winter. We have all been working hard to plant winter plants, sweep leaves and weed the flower beds.
Christmas Baking
Our Head Chef, Martin, ran a Christmas cake baking session with some residents. We all donned our chefs hats and got to work with the heavy mixing. Once baked, we will be decorating and boxing them to give to our loved ones.
Halloween at Hurstwood
Staff and residents joined for a fancy dress competition. We also had a few trick or treaters wave to us from outside.
Harvest Festival
In aid of Harvest Festival, we held a donation station for people to donate to the local food bank. Staff, residents, relatives and the local community all delivered various items and we were proud to present it to Uckfield Food Bank.
Autumn Crafts
We recently created our autumn display. We started by collecting conkers from the garden; these were then used to thread and create conkers and leave gardens, which were all added to our display in the cafe.
