Activities at Hurstwood View Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Lisa Everson
I’m Lisa, Activities Coordinator here at Hurstwood View.
I’ve been working at Hurstwood View in varying departments since 2017, shortly after the birth of my second child. With a strong background in Marketing, events, and community engagement - Activities is a great fit for me! I love arranging events and making a difference to our residents’ day. I’ve never danced so much since working here, no day is ever the same, and we really do have so much fun!

Life at Hurstwood View Care Home
Real Bread Week
Residents enjoyed a selection of freshly baked breads, including three cheese, cranberry, raisin and cashew, rustic white baguette and chutneys.
They enjoyed a glass of wine alongside and chatted the afternoon away. We also catered for our residents that needed it by having gluten free bread for them.
Valentine's Disco
Residents and staff dressed up, listened to music and danced. We had a chocolate fountain with fruit and marshmallows to dip in, plus sparkling drinks.
Smoothie Making
We started the new year on a healthy foot by creating a variety of smoothies, which benefit our health by giving a boost of Vitamin C, fighting those antitoxins and balancing our urinary tract health.
The smoothies were enjoyed by both staff and residents to give that much needed boost in the new year.
Christmas Pod Grotto
On a sunny Sunday, families of staff and residents were invited to visit Father Christmas in his specially adapted pod grotto. We shared songs, presents and Christmas wishes. Father Christmas even got a surprise visit from his not so little boy.
Elf Day
We have been raising money for the Alzheimer's Society throughout December with a variety of events, including Elf Day, an in-house tombola, ancard and cake competition and Christmas bingo, plus much more.
Christmas Preparations
Christmas preparations have begun; we have been busy getting the home and presents ready for our loved ones.
