Activities at Hurstwood View Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Lisa Everson

Activities Coordinator & Speak Up Champion

I’m Lisa, Activities Coordinator here at Hurstwood View.

I’ve been working at Hurstwood View in varying departments since 2017, shortly after the birth of my second child. With a strong background in Marketing, events, and community engagement - Activities is a great fit for me! I love arranging events and making a difference to our residents’ day.  I’ve never danced so much since working here, no day is ever the same, and we really do have so much fun!

May Bank Holiday

We made the most of the sunshine over the bank holiday weekend by enjoying Pimm's and ice creams in the garden. Staff, residents and families all enjoyed the sunshine and time outside

A Slice of Summer

We sat outside on the patio and did some flower arranging in preparation for our open day on 21st April. We enjoyed teas, coffees and biscuits in the sun. We also went for a walk to look at the flowers and views over the fields.

,

Garden Centre Visit

We all thoroughly enjoyed a trip to the local garden centre, where we picked up some new fish for our tank, seeds to plant in the garden and treated ourselves to a cuppa whilst there.

50th Wedding Anniversary

Two residents at our home recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. For the occasion, we had the lovely Ruth Fahie join us to provide entertainment, in addition to lots of balloons, cakes and, most of all, laughter!

Out & About

Out & About

It may have been a rainy day, but that didn't stop us from having a drive across the beautiful Ashdown Forest and getting some ice cream (although, we had to say in the minibus to enjoy these). Hopefully the sun will shine for us next time.

Valentine's Day

We played lots of quizzes and games on Valentine's Day. Married couples exchanged gifts, which was lovely, and we also did some Valentine's-themed baking. There was a Valentine's arts & crafts session as well, where residents made some beautiful cards.
