Activities at Juniper House Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Juniper House Care Home
Reindeer food
Residents at Juniper House have been busy making reindeer food for the children of Brackley to sprinkle on Christmas Eve. Please come and help yourself to a bag to spread some festive cheer.
Mayor opens Juniper House's new visiting suite
We were honoured to welcome The Worshipful the Town Mayor of Brackley, Councillor Chris Cartmell to Juniper House for a socially distanced grand opening of our new Covid-safe visiting suite. He met resident Annie, to exchange Christmas wishes and hear her experience of life in a pandemic. Annie said, ‘It is wonderful here. We are all very lucky to have each other and get through this together’. We are delighted that our visiting suite means we can safely welcome residents loved ones for family visits to Juniper House. Our visiting suite is comfortable and welcoming, with soft furnishings and heating. It has been constructed as a hygienic space with a Perspex divider to block airflow between the two halves of the suite. There is a microphone and speaker system to ensure people can communicate clearly. Visitors access the suite through an external door, with no need to go through the home. Infection control protocols and social distancing are in place for every visit, including hand sanitising. Cleaning of the visiting suite and touch points takes place after each visit. We are delighted to welcome families to our visiting suite.
Thank you to our local healthcare services
At Juniper House we wanted to show our appreciation and support for frontline healthcare workers at Brackley Medical Centre and Community Hospital. Residents at our home made beautiful flower arrangements which were delivered by our home's General Manager, Rhiannon.
We will remember them
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, not the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.
General Manager, Rhiannon, placed a poppy wreath in Brackley from the residents and staff of Juniper House, and we created a remembrance display in our home, thanks to beautiful artwork sent to us by Radstone Primary School, Bracken Leas Primary School, Stepping Stones Nursery and Helmdon Primary school. We hope you agree it looks fabulous on display. Thank you also to two pupils of Winchester House School who attended with Alumni & Community Relations Manager- Emma McGowan. Kate performed The Last Post on her trumpet and Tahlia gave a reading outside the front of Juniper House. It means a lot to us that our home remains in our community's thoughts.
Bonfire Night
November the 5th is one of our favourite nights at Juniper House. We all come together to watch a display every year, and with all the safety guidelines adhered to, we were ready to enjoy the show again this year. Some residents watched from their balconies and others braved the cold. Luckily they had plenty of handmade blankets from the community to wrap up in, to stay cosy and warm. The fireworks were followed by jacket potatoes and a nice hot drink. Such a wonderful evening!
Autumn cards from Winchester School
Winchester House School continues to keep Juniper House in their thoughts. Thank you, again, for our wonderful cards. We are very lucky to be part of such a fantastic community helping to keep us connected.
