Activities at Lancaster Grange Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Charlotte Thompson
We would like to introduce to you our Senior Activities Coordinator, Charlotte Thompson. Charlotte has worked at Barchester since 2015 and prides herself on delivering a person centred approach, valuing equality, diversity & offering tailored activities. Charlotte joined the team at Tennyson Wharf in October 2022 before moving back to us here at Lancaster Grange in January 2023.
Charlotte is pleased to be welcoming families and volunteers back into the home. Charlotte is a senior activities coordinator and enjoys supporting other homes in our region as part of her job role.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Letters from School
There were many letters and cards distributed by the children from Highfields school. It was very rewarding for the residents who were very appreciative.
Blanket Friends
A big thank you to the Blanket Friends charity who kindly got together to knit and crochet squares, which were then made into cuddle blankets for our lovely residents.
Christmas Poses
Residents at Lancaster Grange enjoyed posing for pictures in front of our Christmas Tree after being pampered in our Beauty Salon.
Christmas Decorations
Lancaster Grange are so proud to showcase our outdoor Christmas lights and decorations. We wanted to make it extra special and a big thank you to everyone involved. It certainly turns heads!
Indoor Visiting Suite
Lancaster Grange has launched a new indoor visiting suite to allow families and friends to hold indoor visits during the winter. The indoor pod was erected and is made up of a stud wall with perspex screens, with microphones and speakers mounted to each side. It's been a huge success and welcomed by all.
Baking Day
Residents in Lancaster Grange’s Memory Lane community were busy baking Gingerbread. A great enjoyable way to keep sensory, social and physical skills sharp
