Activities at Leonard Lodge Care Home
Our activities team offer a wide range of social events, from the very popular Friday morning bingo, to gentle exercise sessions, skittles, regular animal visits and arts & crafts sessions. We are fortunate to have a team of volunteers who stop by weekly to provide additional support, allowing residents the opportunity for one-to-one sessions. These sessions could include anything, even something as simple as playing a game of Scrabble or just having a cup of tea and a chat. We believe that it is essential to support people in such a way that they are able to continue to live full and happy lives doing the things that they enjoy.
Lynn Amiri
My name is Lynn and I lead the Activities Team here at Leonard Lodge.
Since working at Leonard Lodge I have dedicated myself to ensuring that each of our residents can continue to partake in the hobbies that they have enjoyed for years. It is important that all of the residents here have access to life enriching, fun and social activities.
The whole home supports my team and I to organise activities, events and entertainment tailored to every residents preferences, abilities and needs. Each year we have a fantastically full calendar, and we look forward to the future when we can invite the families of residents to join us in the home again.
I am married with two children and two rather annoying rescue cats. I lived in Italy for a number of years and love all Italian food, especially when somebody else cooks it for me! I love to read, especially crime novels. I am a regular theatre goer with a passion for musicals. I like to sing and dance (albeit badly!).

Life at Leonard Lodge Care Home
World Record Holder!
Leonard Lodge resident, Jean, was thrilled to hear that her grandson, Andrew, had won a place in the Guiness Book of World Records. Andrew, 28, of Swindon, became the fastest person in a motorized wheelie bin after reaching speeds of 45mph and raised money for charity in the process.
Jean was told the good news by her son, Michael, and daughter-in-law, Val, during a garden visit at Leonard Lodge. Jean showed the photographs to residents and staff at the home and told everybody how proud she was of Andrew and his achievement.
Wedding Anniversary
Leonard Lodge's residents Maurice and Monica celebrated their wedding anniversary. Maurice presented Monica with a basket containing flowering plants, which will give them both many months of pleasure and a constant reminder of their enduring love.
Garden Visits
Staff have been working hard to facilitate visits by relatives in a manner that is enjoyable, but safe for residents and visitors alike. Families and friends have been thrilled to see loved ones face to face, or should that be mask to face after months of Skyping and phone calls. These visits have been emotional and joyful.
Mocktails in the Sunshine
Residents have been making the most of our lovely garden and have been enjoying mocktails in the sunshine. For a bit of added fun props were provided which brought a smile to everyone's face.
103rd Birthday Celebrations
Leonard Lodge resident, Ellen, celebrated her 103rd birthday with a beautifully decorated cake and a small tipple. Ellen was thrilled to be able to FaceTime her family, who are scattered all round the world on her special day.
Green Fingers
Residents have been enjoying time out in the garden. They really enjoyed planting and we are all looking forward to a beautiful garden full of colour in the summer.
