Activities at Lethen Park Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Amanda McCarthy
We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends

Life at Lethen Park Care Home
Ice, ice baby!
Perfectly timed in the middle of a heatwave, staff and residents from our Memory Lane unit at Barchester’s Lethen Park care home in Portlethen had a fantastic time celebrating National Ice Cream Day on July 16, a brilliant excuse to sample lots of cooling treats at this very famous traditional and delightful shop, E. Giulianotti in Stonehaven.
Dogs Trust
Residents across our homes had a fantastic time during a special live virtual event, led by Jennifer and Emily from Dogs Trust, the UK's largest dog welfare charity. Jennifer and Emily took us on a journey to discover the rich history of Dogs Trust and their facilities.
Using captivating video and photo footage, our residents were able to explore rehoming centres and learn more about the highest level of welfare offered there. It was a delightful experience for everyone, especially our dog lovers.
Men Shed
Thomas has enjoyed his Men Shed visits recently, he has moved onto his next project of upcycling a garden bench for the staff to sit at.
Thomas enjoys attending this club each week as it gives him a huge sense of purpose and pride.
Donny the Men shed co coordinator and work shop manager says “it’s a Joy to have Thomas attend the workshop”
Reminiscing Club

Mr and Mrs Mannel had a wonderful time being greated by the bus driver.
When they reached ASDA they had a delicious cake from the café and a nice cuppa tea.
Mr and Mrs Mannel were so happy with their trip to the shops with Debbie.
