Activities at Longueville Court Care Home
Our activities coordinators are committed to organising a variety of activities that reflect the interests and capabilities for everybody we support ensuring a person centred approach.
The team have a flexible approach to our programme and we are constantly reviewing and updating our programmes to ensure we cater for everyone's needs and varied abilities.
The activities programme includes regular trips utilising the homes minibus, these include a number of destinations of local interest. We are particularly proud of the relationship we have built with Peterborough Sailability. This registered charity offers the opportunities to those with restricted mobility to enjoy the thrill of sailing on the open water and the sense of independence that brings in specially adapted boats.
Involvement in the local community is something that the whole team are very passionate about and we provide regular visits to a number of different facilities including local schools and churches. These activities also extend too visits from "Pat dogs" and local entertainers to aid in our ongoing quest to give each individual as much support and stimulation as they require.

Life at Longueville Court Care Home
Sailing At Ferry Meadows
It's been such a beautiful, sunny day today and we took three of our lovely ladies to Sailability at Ferry Meadows. Christine, one of our newer residents, isn't keen on water but showed such determination, to give it a go! Surprise, surprise... she absolutely loved it! A big shout out to her sailing buddy, for making her comfortable, whilst out on the water. Our other more experienced sailors found it very relaxing too.
At Longueville Court we are passionate about residents being able to continue enjoying lifelong hobbies, as well as exploring new adventures whilst living at our home.
Dog Show!!!
Another busy but fun-filled day as we hosted our dog show on the front green with our residents, families and friends in the village. We had two judges this year and since they had their dogs here with them, we had one of the lovely ladies from the animal helpline come and judge, so we were impartial to all!!
Pudding club
Our pudding club was a great success, we had Cllr Kirsty Knight , and 3 of the management team from Posh football club, the puddings where all delicious, but our winner was the strawberry chocolate dream which was a recipe from our chef Amelia and 2nd place went to the Chorley chocolate cake, which was a recipe from resident Joyce from memory lane community, after all the cake our visitors and residents had the pleasure of some entertainment from The Fenland Harmonia Guys. It really was a wonderful afternoon.
Bug Hotel now open!
Over the last two weeks our friends from Orton Longueville preschool, have been hard at work with our residents, making a bug hotel of our courtyard garden, our guests and residents spent the morning disusing the different types of insects, what they eat, and why the bug hotel is important, it was very surprising how much our guests knew, our residents learnt a lot from our guests today.
Vintage bike show
We had the privilege of having Andy and his fellow classic motorcycle friends, come visit us !! Several of our residents and family members come outside to admire a collection of wonderful motorcycles. Three of our residents, were even taken for rides around the local village, before our new biker friends enjoyed a BBQ in the glorious sunshine.
We are sailing!!!
Sailability is back, and our residents couldn't be happier. The weather was perfect for a nice sail around Ferry Meadows, our residents who didn't sail enjoyed a nice coffee sitting by the water
