Activities at Longueville Court Care Home
Our activities coordinators are committed to organising a variety of activities that reflect the interests and capabilities for everybody we support ensuring a person centred approach.
The team have a flexible approach to our programme and we are constantly reviewing and updating our programmes to ensure we cater for everyone's needs and varied abilities.
The activities programme includes regular trips utilising the homes minibus, these include a number of destinations of local interest. We are particularly proud of the relationship we have built with Peterborough Sailability. This registered charity offers the opportunities to those with restricted mobility to enjoy the thrill of sailing on the open water and the sense of independence that brings in specially adapted boats.
Involvement in the local community is something that the whole team are very passionate about and we provide regular visits to a number of different facilities including local schools and churches. These activities also extend too visits from "Pat dogs" and local entertainers to aid in our ongoing quest to give each individual as much support and stimulation as they require.

Life at Longueville Court Care Home
Employee of the Month - January
Longueville Court's Employee of the Month for January was Head Chef, Artur Majewski. Artur is cheerful and hardworking, with a can-do attitude, and is always on hand to provide support to his colleagues and residents. Nothing is ever too much trouble for him. Well done, Artur!
A Very Special Visit
Longueville Court had a very special visitor recently with everyone very excited to meet her.
Tickle, the miniature Shetland pony, is a therapeutic petting pony and made a special visit to see the residents; she was predictably loved by everyone she met. Tickle put a smile on everyone's faces and the residents were excited by the unique opportunity to stroke and cuddle a real life pony in the comfort of their own home.
Tickle was definitely a highlight of the week's activities and we are very much looking forward to her return to Longueville Court in the summer.
Residents had an extra special Burns Night this year at Longueville Court
Residents and staff enjoyed a traditional Burns Night menu that included haggis, neeps and tatties, along with some wee whisky, which was followed by a poetry reading and a surprise performance from a Scottish Piper, who played traditional Scottish music, such as Auld Lang Syne. All of this went down very well with residents at the home, who loved the food and singing along to the music!
Cinderella Panto
Residents, staff, families, and friends enjoyed an evening of watching Cinderella in Panto. Carols were sung by all and residents thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the children dressed up in their costumes and loved joining in with the Christmas festivities. Cinderella was very entertaining and was a night to remember for all.
Elf Day
General Manager, Tina Stebbings, got into the Christmas spirit by donning an elf costume in aid of the Alzheimer's Society.
Staff, residents and families sponsored Tina to dress as Elf the Boss for the day. A total of £75.00 has been raised to date, with fundraising efforts continuing for the next few days with the rest of the staff and residents joining Tina in dressing up for the Alzheimer's Society's Elf Day.
Garden Delights
We had a lovely day out at our local garden centre looking at the Christmas decorations and shopping for some festive goodies. Residents had a wonderful time seeing all the different displays, and we finished off with a nice cup of tea and a mince pie.
