Activities at Longueville Court Care Home
Our activities coordinators are committed to organising a variety of activities that reflect the interests and capabilities for everybody we support ensuring a person centred approach.
The team have a flexible approach to our programme and we are constantly reviewing and updating our programmes to ensure we cater for everyone's needs and varied abilities.
The activities programme includes regular trips utilising the homes minibus, these include a number of destinations of local interest. We are particularly proud of the relationship we have built with Peterborough Sailability. This registered charity offers the opportunities to those with restricted mobility to enjoy the thrill of sailing on the open water and the sense of independence that brings in specially adapted boats.
Involvement in the local community is something that the whole team are very passionate about and we provide regular visits to a number of different facilities including local schools and churches. These activities also extend too visits from "Pat dogs" and local entertainers to aid in our ongoing quest to give each individual as much support and stimulation as they require.

Life at Longueville Court Care Home
Peterborough Choral Society
Residents and staff at Longueville Court were thrilled to be able to welcome and listen to the Peterborough Choral Society recently. A thoroughly enjoyable evening was had by all when the society sang for the home. The evening was finished off perfectly with some tasty cheese and wine tasting.
The Cockney Crooner
Lots of singing and dancing was enjoyed when Dave, the Cockney Crooner, visited Longueville Court recently. Dave did what he does best and got everyone at the home feeling nostalgic, and we can’t wait for him to visit us again!
Elf Day
We managed to raise £100 for Elf Day when our General Manager, Tina Stebbings, dressed as 'Boss Elf' for the occasion.
Santa's Grotto
Residents had a magical and festive day recently when they were visited by Santa and his reindeers. Staff, residents and loved ones got into the Christmas spirit when they were joined by local pre-school children who were thrilled to be invited to take part in the day.
The children enjoyed seeing Santa in his grotto and received an early Christmas present and also had their photo taken with the reindeer. It was lovely to see all residents interacting with the children and everyone was very happy that they could share their special day with them.
Halloween
Halloween was enjoyed by all at Longueville Court recently with the residents getting their hands dirty with the fun task of carving pumpkins. Tesco kindly donated pumpkins to the home, along with lights and sweets for residents to carve and decorate their own creations with. Everyone was thrilled to see their end product all lit up on Halloween.
To finish the day off, everyone enjoyed handing out the sweets to the children who stopped by the home whilst trick or treating.
Peterborough Cathedral
Longueville Court recently had a truly memorable outing to Peterborough Cathedral. All residents involved loved sharing stories of their visits to the cathedral when they were younger; some even sang in their school choir and performed there on many occasions.
Learning about the history of the building and lighting candles evoked lovely memories for all and we can’t wait to visit the cathedral again.
The afternoon was finished off in style with a lovely piece of cake and a nice cup of tea in their beautiful tea room.
