Activities at Marriott House and Lodge Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Marriott House and Lodge Care Home

New Year Tree

New Year Tree

Residents, staff and visitors at Marriott House and Lodge started the New Year by joining together to think about things that they are thankful for and things they are looking forward to in 2017. This provoked lots of conversation and reminiscence about the past year and also a look at the year to come. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this.

Don't Dine Alone Barchy Breakfast

At Marriott House and Lodge, we hold a monthly Barchy Breakfast, where the kitchen team whip up a storm of a breakfast, which includes croissants, bacon, sausages, eggs and more.

On Wednesday 21st December, as part of the ‘Don’t Dine Alone’ initiative, Barchy Breakfast was opened up to the community and guests were treated to a delicious breakfast served up by our talented chefs.

Christmas can be a very lonely time for older people and this is just one of the regular events that we open our doors and invite the community to. For more information, please contact Marriott House and Lodge on 01243 536652.

Families and friends of residents that have passed away during the year were invited to join current residents and staff to remember those we've lost. A range of carols were sung and some poignant poetry was read.
