Activities at Meadow Park Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

A Visit from the Armed Forces

Meadow Park have enjoyed a visit from the 101 Regiment Royal Artillery warrant Officer class two Nicky Cullwick, Warrant Officer class two Diane Hillary, Bombardier Mark Mary and Corporal Steve Daley who have all shared a wonderful morning with our residents reminiscing and sharing stories about their time working for the armed forces. Thank you all for visiting our home, it has really been a great surprise for our residents.

,

Dasher the Friendship Dog

Our residents here at Meadow Park have enjoyed the first of many visits from friendship dog Dasher and his owner Simon. We have all loved spending time with Dasher watching him do tricks and our residents also had the opportunity to give Dasher some hard earner treats.

Fool's Gold duo

Our residents at Meadow Park have shown everyone how to sing and dance today at our home with live music from the singing duo Fools Gold. It was great to see our residents sing a-long to some of their favourite songs and share some of their favourite moves.

Grandparents Day

Residents at Meadow Park were gifted with handwritten cards and chocolates from all of the team at our home to celebrate this year’s Grandparents Day. Our residents were so moved by the kind gesture from our staff and couldn’t thank them enough for making the day extra special for everyone.

Maritime Museum

Residents Gerry, Colin and Bill have enjoyed a visit to our local Maritime Museum for a day full of reminiscing. Our gentlemen tucked into an amazing and delicious afternoon tea prepared by the museum before taking in the local history around them. Everyone had a great time and all shared how the trip brought back so many childhood memories for them and they can’t wait to visit again.

Memory Walk

Meadow Park care home in Bedlington has taken part in a Memory Walk with others from their local community to show their support and raise funds towards Alzheimer’s research. The leisurely stroll took place in South Shield’s with residents, their relatives and staff showing their support from home in aid of a charity that means a lot to those pounding the pavements. After the walk, staff raised a glass to celebrate their efforts in raising £420 towards Alzheimer’s research and to those from Meadow Park for their continuous support throughout the event.
