Activities at Meadow Park Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Meadow Park Care Home
Residents roll out the red carpet!
Residents at Meadow Park care home in Bedlington were given red carpet treatment when they were invited to a night at the Oscars. Staff at the care home pulled out all the stops to give the residents a day to remember. They rolled out the red carpet, chilled the pink fizz and served delicious canapes whilst everyone participated within the award ceremony so that residents felt like Hollywood royalty themselves. What’s more, residents were given awards such as best The Best Receptionist and best sense of humour in their very own glittering awards ceremony.
Julie Bond, Senior General Manager, said: “Our residents are absolute superstars so they deserve to be treated as such. We had such a fantastic time putting out the red carpet, decorating the home and giving everyone their awards – it has been such a brilliant day, none of us wanted it to end!”
Nutrition and Hydration Week
Residents and staff have kicked off nutrition and hydration week with smoothies and healthy snacks. Residents have had the chance to try things perhaps they might not have tried before, with weirdly nice concoctions the staff have put together.
The Oscars
Residents had their very own Oscars ceremony, to celebrate everybody’s person centred qualities and achievements. There was life time achievement awards and even an award for the ‘canniest granny’ The day was celebrated with friends and family, and lots of drinks and snacks to go along with it.
International Women's Day
International womens day, celebrated every year globally, celebrates the achievements of women and their success’s. We have many achievements here at Meadow Park whether it be those of a great age, or those with successful careers.
Meadow Park's Youngest Team Member
Everyone at Meadow Park was thrilled to welcome a new baby into our home! Care Assistant, Suki, gave birth to a lovely baby boy. Residents and staff were delighted to meet him.
Dedicated followers of fashion!
Staff and residents at Barchester’s Meadow Park care home in Bedlington had a brilliant time celebrating London Fashion Week and reminiscing about their favourite fashions over the years including walking their very own catwalk!
From the Swinging Sixties, typified by Mary Quant, Ossie Clark and Barbara Hulanicki’s Biba, through to Vivienne Westwood’s punk provocations and Alexander McQueen’s dark and dramatic visions, London has a long legacy of producing extraordinary design but the first London Fashion Week didn’t take place until 1984.
